Introduction to Determinants, Cramer’s Rule, Vector Spaces, Eigen values and its
Applications, Inner Product Spaces, Orthogonality, Diagonalization, The Gram-
Schmidt Process
Course Learning Outcomes: Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
1. Identify solutions of systems of linear equations by Gaussian Elimination and
matrix inversion and carry out matrix operations including inverses and
determinants.

2. Demonstrate understanding of the concepts of vector space, subspace, linear

independence, span, basis, and linear transformations.

3. Solve Eigenvalue problems by determining eigenvalues and eigenvectors.

4. Apply principles of Linear Algebra in Engineering problems.

5. Illustrate the use of inner products in finding orthonormal bases.
