Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan Science Grade 3 Quarter 4 Week 3-4

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:
a. define weather
b. enumerate the types of weather
c. describe the changes in weather over a period of time; and
d. participate actively in group activity

II. SUBJECT MATTER


Topic: Types and Effects of Weather as they relate to Daily Activities,
Health and Safety.

Materials: Pictures, Laptop, Glue, Tape, PowerPoint Presentation

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activities
a. Prayer
b. Greetings
c. Checking of Attendance
d. Setting of Classroom Standards
e. Review Past Lesson
 The teacher will ask students about the lesson they have
learned from the previous topic.
f. Motivation
 The teacher will play a video song ‘The Weather Song’
 Teacher will ask the following questions.
 What do you think is the song all about?
 Did you find any difficult words to understand?
g. Unlocking Difficulties:
Weather- is the condition of atmosphere at particular place and
time.
Pour- flowing continuously.
Accompanied- to go with companion.
B. Lesson Proper
a. Activity “Arrange Me”
 The teacher will divide the pupils into 3 groups.
 The teacher will instruct the pupils to arrange the pictures given
to them in 5 minutes and the first group will have additional
points.
 Every group will select a group leader to share their insights
about the pictures they made.
 Rubrics
The first group who will 5 points
post their output on the
bord.
Behave Group 5 points
Participating Group 5 points
Correct answers 5 points
Neatness of Work 5 points

c. Abstraction

Weather – is the condition of atmosphere at particular place and time.


-is the change in weather is due to the change of in the
atmosphere. The atmosphere is a layer of gases and dusts that
surrounds the earth.

Types of Weather

Sunny – the sun is shining brightly and the air is warm.

Cloudy – the sky is full of clouds.

Rainy – the sky is covered with dark clouds and the rain is pour hard.

Windy – strong winds are present in the whole day.

Stormy – heavy rain and strong winds are present, accompanied by


lightning and thunder.
Snowy – snows fall from the sky. It covers the trees, the grass and
streets.

CHANGES IN WEATHER
 Weather changes a period of time.
Examples:
 The rain started falling last Monday and stopped falling
today.
 Today is sunny day. Tomorrow will rainy day.
 It was really windy earlier and now it’s raining hard.
 On April, days are sunny, on June, days are rainy or
stormy.

 Different types of weather occur in different places.


Example:
 In Brgy. Lamba is sunny while in Brgy. San Jose is
cloudy.

d. Application (PUT ME IN)


 The teacher will group the pupils into 3 groups.
 The teacher will instruct the pupils to put the pictures in the
correct types of weather.
 Every group will select a group leader to share their insights
about the pictures they create.
 The teacher will give only 5 minutes to post their outputs on the
bord.
 Rubrics
The first group who will 5 points
post their output on the
bord.

IV. EVALUATION
 The teacher will give a quiz.
