GRAPHIC DESIGN COURSE

In this training, you will learn graphic design from the basics of design through familiarization with the
two most used graphic design software (Adobe Photoshop CC and Adobe Illustrator CC) till advanced
methods of design and visual communication in other to transmit well understood messages to an
audience using graphic forms.

MONTH 1 INTRODUCTION TO GRAPHIC DESIGN


GDC 11 INTRODUCTION TO ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CC 2hrs
In this topic, you will be introduced to the Adobe photoshop CC workspace, tools and how to create and
manage photoshop project files.

GDC 12 DIGITAL IMAGING 1 2hrs


In this topic, you will learn basic image manipulations and how to use them to create graphic visuals.

GDC 13 VISUAL COMMUNICATION 1 2hrs


In this topic, you will learn about visual communication, compositing, color theory and color harmony.
These are the fundamental knowledge of a graphic designer.

GDC 14 VISUAL COMMUNICATION 2 2hrs


In this topic, after being familiar to compositing, color theory and color harmony, you will learn how to
create basic graphic visuals (case study: creation of a STICKER).

GDC 15 Introduction to Adobe Illustration cc 2hrs


In this topic, you will be introduced to the Adobe illustrator CC workspace, tools and how to create and
manage illustrator project files.

GDC 16 DIGITAL DRAWING 1 2hrs


In this topic, you will learn how to create vector graphics (case study: Creation of a vector logo design).

GDC 17 TYPOGRAPHY 1 2hrs


In this topic, you will learn the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible,
readable and appealing when displayed. You will also learn the style, arrangement, and appearance of
the letters, numbers, and symbols created by the process for decoration.

GDC 18 PAGE LAYOUT 1 2hrs


In this topic, you will learn the different ways to arrange you project files for prints (case Study: Creation
of a Flyer for product advertisement).
MONTH 2 ADVANCED GRAPHIC DESIGN
GDC 21 DIGITAL IMAGING 2 2hrs
In this topic, you will learn advance photo editing and manipulation (Case study: enhancing picture
quality).

GDC 22 VISUAL COMMUNICATION 3 2hrs


In this topic, you will learn advanced visual graphics creation (Case Study: Creation of a
roll-up design).

GDC 23 DIGITAL DRAWING 2 2hrs


In this topic, you will learn how to draw interactive figures with the help of geometric figures using a
computer mouse only (Case study: Creation of a vector drawing of a boy).

GDC 24 TYPOGRAPHY 2 2hrs


In this topic, you will learn how to create your own type design (process of creating type face). Case
Study: Creation of a font style.

GDC 25 VISUAL COMMUNICATION 4 2hrs


In this topic, you have an introduction to artboards and presentations. (Case Study: Creation of a multi-
page flyers).

GDC 26 DIGITAL IMAGING 3 2hrs


In this topic, you will learn advance photo editing and manipulation (Case Study: Creation of a fantasy
scenery).

GDC 27 VISUAL COMMUNICATION 5 2hrs


In this topic you will learn how to design a high scale banner (Case Study: Creation of a
Banner).

GDC 28 CREATING YOUR PORTFOLIO AS A DESIGNER 2hrs


In this topic, you will learn the importance and roles of a portfolio for a designer, and also how to create
one.

GDC 29 INSTRUCTIONS ON END OF TRAINING PROJECT 2hrs


At the end of this training, you will have to run and complete a project on all the topics we have will
cover during the 2 months training. (Project title: Creation of a Graphic Charter for a company).
