Daniel Nimusiima is an M&E consultant with over 10 years of practical experience in providing
programme/project development, Monitoring and Evaluation consultancy services as well as
organizational capacity assessment and training (OCAT) to a spectrum of organizations and
agencies both in Uganda and on the African continent. Has specifically provided consultancy
services to organizations such as UNDP and the UN in Botswana, Malawi, Ghana, Tanzania,
Ethiopia, Gambia and Uganda, USAID, Irish Aid, KOICA, DGF, Mild may Uganda, Childcare
Worldwide, ANPPCAN (U) Chapter, Child Assist Uganda and Alliance for Child Assist International
in project proposal development, implementation and M&E.

Has worked with several project/programme evaluation teams as a lead or Associate consultant,
data collection supervisor as well as quantitative and qualitative data analyst.
Has successfully executed a series of programmatic research including inter alia; baseline studies,
situational analyses particularly on health and child protection systems in Uganda; mid-term
and terminal evaluations as explicitly indicated in the experience section.
Daniel has since 2009 been conducting short term training courses in project and consultancy
proposal development, report writing and M&E as well as quantitative data analysis using SPSS
organized by REEV Centre for Strategic Studies and EXMA Consult International. The courses
have been designed to equip fresh graduates and other practitioners with more practical skills in

Sept-Dec 2013 Lead Researcher for ‘Knowledge, Attitude and Practices


(KAP) Baseline study for communities along
Moroto- Nakapiripiti road’ under the auspices of
Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA)
executed by REEV Consult International. The study
involved collection and analysis of both qualitative
and quantitative data from a sample of
481 respondents in order to assess the level of
knowledge about, community attitudes towards and

risky practices that could fuel the spread of
HIV/AIDS. As a project coordinator, the actual tasks
included; project design, recruitment and training
of enumerators; progress reporting; coordinating
data collection, analysis and participating in

June-September, 2013 Associate Consultant for the FINSCOPE III Survey under the auspices
of Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC) executed by REEV
Consult International. Besides supervising field data collection, I
was the chief project Anchor that developed its technical design
right from the proposal level up to the Inception report writing.
I was particularly responsible for progress reporting and
coordination of all preparatory activities such as developing of
data collection tools, selection of enumerators as well as their
training.

March – June 2013 Associate Consultant for NUSAF 2 Citizen Report Card Survey under
the auspices of Office of the Prime Minister executed by REEV
Consult International. Specific roles played include; development
of the winning proposal, inception report writing and
presentation, progress reporting, supervising data collection in
Lango and Acholi sub regions as well as coordinating other teams
in West Nile, Teso, Bukedi and Elgon sub regions. Also supervised

Uganda under the auspices of Swedish Embassy, Kampala executed by Case
International consultants. The study aimed at establishing
the technical and structural gaps in the provision of higher
education and Uganda and recommending viable redress
measures. My major tasks in the project was the overall project
design and participation in data collection.
Oct 2012-Jan 2013 Researcher, for Final evaluation of HIPS project
under the28auspices of USAID; executed by
REEV Consult International. The assignment involved
collection of both primary and secondary data in order
to assess the extent to which the project objectives
were achieved and the critical factors for the level of
achievement. Participated in designing the project,
development of tools, supervision of data collection
as well as report writing.

May, 2012 Research Associate for Diagnostic study on Gender


mainstreaming in road construction and
maintenance under the auspices of Uganda
national Roads Authority (UNRA) executed by
REEV Consult International. I participated in data
collection and report editing.

March 2012 Associate consultant in Assessing the contribution


of CSOs in achieving national development
goals. The project was conducted by REEV
Consult International under the auspices of
DENIVA. My major role was field data collection,
editing, entry and report writing.
July-September 2011 Was a support consultant on a team of consultants
from REEV Consult International that conducted a
Community Needs Assessment and Baseline for
the Barazas (community parliaments) under the
auspices of the Prime Minister’s Office. The study
was conducted in 24 districts of Uganda.
Besides taking part in the overall design of the
study (developing the proposal and inception
report), I supervised data collection in Western
and Central Regions in the districts of; Kisoro,
Rukungiri, Shema, Masaka, Sembabule and

April- June 2012 Support consultant for developing gender


mainstreaming strategy in Road
construction and maintenance under
the auspices of Uganda National Roads Authority
(UNRA). The assignment was executed by REEV Consult
International.

May 2008 Designed a community based rehabilitation


strategy for street children in Kalangala and Mpigi
districts. The project is being implemented by
ChildCare Worldwide.

Trainings and paper presentation

2007 to date I have since 2007 been conducting trainings in


adult literacy, project proposal and report
writing, research methods and data analysis
using SPSS. The programme has majorly
targeted post graduate students from various
Universities in Uganda.

July 2007 Trained Rwebishekye Women Foundation members in


Organisational management and development. The
training covered inter alia; project design,
monitoring & Evaluation using various
techniques such the budget, logframe and
workplan.

2010 to date Have conducted several trainings for enumerators


particularly focusing on the ethics of data
collection, conducting successful interviews as
well as significant change story collection.
2. Project/Programme Management and Coordination

August 2013 to Jan 2016 A three year HIV/AIDS awareness and


mitigation project for the communities along
Moroto-Nakapiripiti road. Specific tasks include;
project progress reporting, resource and
community mobilization in areas where project
activities.
