EXPERIMENT : PT 1
TITLE : BASIC PNEUMATIC CIRCUIT
DURATION : 2 HOURS

1.0 Experiment outcome


At the end of the lab session students should be able:
i. To construct pneumatic circuit according to assigned task. (P4)
ii. To demonstrate understanding of engineering norm and practices. (A3)

2.0 Task
Situation 1: Logic AND operation
The piston rod of a double acting cylinder is to advance when the push button 1 and push
button 2 is operated. If either of these input elements is released, then the cylinder is to return
to the initial position.

Use:
1 double acting cylinder
1 5/2 DCV single pilot
2 Push Button
Any additional components

Situation 2: Transfer parts from magazine


A double acting cylinder is used to transfer parts from a magazine. If push button operated, the
cylinder is to advance. Once the fully advanced, it will be retract to initial position automatically.
A 3/2-way roller lever valve is to be used to detect the fully extension of the cylinder.

Use:

1 double acting cylinder

1 5/2 DCV double pilot

1 Push Button

1 Roller/ Limit Swich

EXPERIMENT : PT 1
TITLE : BASIC PNEUMATIC CIRCUIT
DURATION : 2 HOURS

Situation 3: mounting device

For mounting two plastic parts, the piston rod advances when a signaling element is actuated by
push button. When the piston reaches the forward end position, it presses the parts together
for 10 seconds and then returns to the initial position. The forward stroke should be slow, the
return stroke relatively in normal speed.

Use:
1 double acting cylinder
1 5/2 DCV double pilot
1 Push Button
1 Roller/ Limit Swich
1 Timer
2 One Way Flow control Valve adjustable
