COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course covers a variety of management and organizational theories and practices. It also
addresses the assumptions underlying Management Principles and Practices in organizations.
Students will develop reflective, interpersonal, communication, team and written skills, which
are required for the practice and evaluation of management in organizations. Specifically, the
course covers (but not limited to) varies Management Theories and thoughts; descriptions of
Managers and Management, Manager's Knowledge and Learning; Ethics and Sustainability,
management functions, and Organization Culture.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Upon the successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
Identify key concepts and terminologies in Management;
Understand the roles of managers in organizations;
 Get understanding on how the Management discipline has evolved;
Critically analyze and evaluate Management Principles and Practices;
Learn the human side of Management: motivation, workplace equity and diversity;
Know the impact of information and technology on business and Management;
Develop the organizational change and development skills;
Critically reflect on ethical theories and social responsibility ideologies to create
organizational sustainability;
Be able to reflect on and generate their own management competencies and apply in the
today's complex and global workplace
