Procedure
Warm-up ● The teacher will begin the class by asking the students what types of

(5 minutes)
● Then the teacher will introduce the topic to the students about what
vertebrate animals are and their classification.

Taks 1
(10 minutes) ● Show images representing the characteristics of each group of
animals (mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish), and
explain each of them.

● Play short videos on the classification of vertebrates.

Task 2 ● The teacher will give students a crossword about the topic.
(5 minutes): ● Students must develop the crossword with the previous
Crossword information in the video and explanations given with images.

● Divide students into groups and assign each group a picture

(Ecuadorian fauna) of an invertebrate animal, have them describe its
characteristics and recognize which group it belongs to.
Assessment 1
(20 minutes): ● Then a group representative will go out to the class to present what
they have done.

● Finally, a classification table will be made on the blackboard where each

group will place its image in the group it belongs to, whether it is a
mammal, bird, reptile, amphibian, or fish.

● The teacher will give each student a sheet where he/she will classify the
Assessment 2 animals that exist in the fauna of Ecuador according to their
(10 minutes): characteristics and group (mammals, fish, birds, reptiles, and
amphibians).

● Summarize the important points covered in class.

Conclusion ● Emphasize to the students to investigate more about the topic
of animals by focusing on the fauna of Ecuador and how we
