DNHS Graduation Script 2022
Theme: “K to 12 Graduates: Pursuing Dreams and Fostering Resilience in the Face of Adversity”.
(Voice Over: People in attendance, the program will start in a few minutes. Let us observe silence.)
INTRODUCTION
Katrin: For more than two years now, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought changes to the
educational landscape all over the world. With the sudden shift of the learning space
from traditional classroom to online and modular distance modalities, the students,
parents, teachers, and schools face countless challenges and tried their best to adapt
during these trying times.
Julius: Daraga National High School bravely embraced the uncertainties brought by the
pandemic. It stays true to its mission of honing the country’s youth through holistic
academic training with its modular and online distance learning, radio-based instruction,
and limited face-to-face learning. Today, we will witness our students grace the event in
celebration of their resilience and triumph. I am Mr. Julius Martillana…
Julius: To formally start our program, may we request everyone to stand for the Entrance of
Colors.
Katrin: Please remain standing as we welcome the Guests, School Heads, GPTA Officers,
Teaching, and Non-Teaching Personnel of Daraga National High School.
OPENING PRAYER, PHILIPPINE NATIONAL ANTHEM, ALBAY FOREVER, AND DNHS HYMN
Julius: Kindly remain standing for the opening prayer to be led by Odessa A. Bordeos of Grade
12 STEM Block 1. This will be followed by the communal singing of the Philippine
National Anthem, Albay Forever, and DNHS Hymn with Mr. Bernard John Martinez of
MAPEH Department conducting.
WELCOME ADDRESS
Katrin: Today marks a historic milestone for Daraga National High School as we herald this 5 th
Senior High School Graduation Rites with the theme, “K to 12 Graduates: Pursuing
Dreams and Fostering Resilience in the Face of Adversity”. This school year, we
recognize that despite the risks and uncertainty brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, as
well as the challenges it has posed to education, our Filipino learners remain resolute in
their desire to build a better future anchored on a clear vision. To start with today’s
culmination, may we call on Cyra M. Mirabel of Science, Technology, Engineering, and
Mathematics Track, to give the welcome address.
(Cyra’s speech…)
Julius: Thank you, Cyra. We look forward to more successes for you in the years ahead. Keep
up the good work, as you always did.
Katrin: It is not only the entire school community that triumphs with our graduating students’
achievements. The entire DepEd family celebrates this day with you. To read the
message of the Secretary of the Department of Education, Leonor M. Briones, may we
call Ma’am Marilyn L. Madrideo, Public Schools District Supervisor.
(Message…)
Thank you, Ma’am Madrideo for reading to us the thoughtful message of the DepEd
Secretary.
Julius: We come to the most awaited part of our program, the presentation and confirmation
of the candidates for graduation. May we call on our school principal III, Dr. Lourdes R.
Bigcas, to present the candidates. This is to be followed by the confirmation which will
be given by Norma B. Samantela, CESO VI, Schools Division Superintendent of Albay.
Thank you, Ma’am Bigcas and Ma’am Samantela; and congratulations to the graduates!
DISTRIBUTION OF DIPLOMAS AND AWARDING OF MEDALS AND CERTIFICATES TO THE GRADUATES
Katrin: According to Ava Stockwell, diploma is the universal symbol for the end of a degree. It
signifies both an end to a journey and a gateway to a new one. On another note, there
are those who consistently did their best and aimed for great results over mediocrity
and amidst the challenges of the pandemic.
Julius: We come now to the distribution of diploma and awarding of medals and certificates to
the graduates. We request the advisers to be on standby to read the names of the
graduates. May we also request our guests to assist in handing the diploma:
Katrin: Once again, a big congratulations to the graduates, honor graduates, and to your
parents, too. Enjoy the glitters of your achievement and be proud of yourself. May you
sustain the spirit of excellence in the future ahead of you.
THANKSGIVING MESSAGE
Julius: Behind every student’s success are significant people who helped them reach this point.
It is just right and fitting to acknowledge their roles in our graduates’ milestone. To that
one star who shines the brightest, a moment is reserved for her to share a thanksgiving
message. Ladies and gentlemen, Ms. Marian M. Mirabuna of Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Mathematics Track…
(Marian’s speech…)
Job well done, Marian. Best of luck in your future endeavors. May your dreams take you
to the most fulfilling achievements and to the brightest star it could reach.
INTRODUCTION TO THE GUEST SPEAKER AND KEYNOTE MESSAGE
Katrin: It is a fact that it takes around 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit and 825,000 pounds per square
inch in pressure to make a diamond. To relate, our students in this venue have endured
years of sweat, tears, and an unexpected pandemic before they are called graduates.
Julius: Precisely, Ma’am Katrin. The pandemic has shaped them into adaptable and resilient
individuals who painstakingly but bravely survived these trying times. I am sure they are
excited to hear more about resilience and how the Department of Education played
their part in helping them step up the ladder. At this point, to introduce our guest
speaker, may I call Ma’am Lourdes R. Bigcas, School Principal IV.
Katrin: Thank you very much, Ma’am Samantela for your inspiring message to our graduates. I
am sure that your stirring words will remain in the hearts and minds of our graduates
and will be remembered long after they left the portals of DNHS. It has been a great
privilege having you here with us.
PLEDGE OF LOYALTY
Katrin: Loyalty to one’s school is a great virtue. It means taking a faithful allegiance to your
beloved Alma Mater despite the end of your high school journey. To lead the Pledge of
Loyalty, may we call on stage Hazel Joy M. Blacer, HUMSS 1, President of Supreme
Student Government.
(Pledge of Loyalty…)
Thank you, Hazel. We are glad to know that our graduates honor to maintain the ideals
of Daraga National High School wherever they go.
GRADUATION SONG
Julius: A graduation song is one that is performed to deepen everyone’s perception of the
event--- and an expression of the thoughts and feelings of the attendees. Now, let us all
listen to our graduates as they sing their graduation song entitled, “We Played It Well”
written by Michael Justin Bermas and to be conducted by Mr. Bernard John N. Martinez.
(song rendition)
Thank you, graduates, for such a delightful rendition. Indeed, in your high school life,
you played it well. Thank you also to Sir Bernard for conducting.
CLOSING MESSAGE
Katrin: Our program is close to an end. So for this event’s conclusion, may we call Ma’am Ma.
Merle A. Lupo, Assistant Principal II for the closing message.
(Closing Message)
MOB DANCE
Julius: We aim for a solemn event for our Graduation Rites. But we think that our parents and
guests need to witness our students relish the joy of their success. So let us welcome
the graduates in their mob dance performance.
Katrin: Let us give a round of applause to all our graduates. Job well done to you who
performed an energetic mob dance for us.
Julius: We may live in an era of instant messaging, speedy fast-food delivery, and rapid online
transactions; but there is no shortcut to success. You all have reached this point slowly
but surely.
Katrin: That’s right, Sir Julius. For that, may I instruct all our graduates to place your right hand
on your chest and say, “I am proud of you.” Once again, to all who have helped in the
accomplishment of this event--our sincere and utmost gratitude and appreciation.
