Report On School Waste Management

Calpi Elementary School has established a solid waste management mechanism where students, faculty, and stakeholders segregate garbage into biodegradable, non-biodegradable, recyclable, and infectious waste categories. Biodegradable waste goes to the compost pit, non-biodegradable and recyclable waste to the material recovery facility, and infectious waste is disinfected before composting. This waste management system helps reduce waste and ensure proper disposal at the school.

REPORT ON SCHOOL MECHANISM ON SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT

Waste management is one way of ensuring that waste products/materials are

properly segregated and disposed. It is a must that school has a solid and concrete
mechanism on waste management. Calpi Elementary School has established a
mechanism to facilitate solid waste management.

Learners, faculty and stakeholders are oriented on the following procedure of

disposing their wastes:

First, segregate garbage as to biodegradable, non-biodegradable, recyclable and

infectious waste. Materials that are classified as biodegradable must go to the compost
pit. Wastes identified as non-biodegradable must be put into the material recovery
facility. Waste materials which can be recycled must also be put in the material
recovery facility. Infectious waste must be subjected for disinfection before disposing
in the compost.

Adopting such kind of waste management mechanism at Calpi Elementary

School greatly contribute to the reduction of waste and proper waste disposal.
