Crochet Pochita Tutorial
Crochet Pochita Tutorial
Here is my attempt at trying to explain how I made the crochet pochita. A lot of it was winging it
with trial and error, so sorry my instructions aren't super detailed :(
Colors needed:
Black, Orange, Gray, White
Size of the yarn doesn't matter, but the thinner the yarn, the smaller he will be. Use whatever
crochet hook size your yarn specifies.
Crochet Terms:
SC: Single Crochet
HDC: Half Double Crochet
DC: Double Crochet
SS: Slip Stitch
INC: Increase Stitch
DEC: Decrease Stitch
BODY:
For the body: I used the tutorial for this free frog pattern LOL :
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzf6MjFEdDw&t=1025s&ab_channel=MochaStitch
The mouth is just sewn onto the body, but I recommend doing it at the end, so you can place the
chainsaw and eyes first.
EYES:
Using black yarn, create a magic circle.
(How to make a magic circle: https://youtu.be/J7GHTfXaz2E )
Row 1: Add 5 single crochets. (5)
Row 2: Do 5 Increase stitches, totaling 10 stitches (10)
Row 3: Switch to white, single crochet 10 stitches.
Row 4: (optional) if you want bigger whites around the eyes, crochet 1 more row of white for 10
stitches
Slip stitch to end it, but keep a long yarn tail to sew onto the body
CHAINSAW BLADE:
Use black yarn. Make your chainsaw piece first so you can adjust your chain for your blade to fit
it exactly.
For the blade, I chained how ever may it took to wrap around the grey piece created in the
previous step.
Row 1: Single Crochet the entire row
Row 2: To make the ‘spikes’ I did the following:
Slip Stitch x2, Chain 3, Single Crochet back into the last stitch to create a ‘spike’, repeat.
For finer yarns, I’ve seen people create ‘spikes’ using a pattern like this instead:
SC x3, HDC, DC, HDC, repeat
ASSEMBLE CHAINSAW:
Attach the blade to the curved part of the chainsaw with a large yarn sewing needle
HANDLES:
//updating soon idk wtf i did LMAO
TAIL:
Using black yarn, make a long chain, mine was 21 chains long. Turn and stitch 1 into 12 chains
back.Use your hands to form it into a triangle, or add additional stitches in the corners to hold
the shape.
