Structural optimization 2023 report 2 guide

What MUST be in the report:

1. The second report is of maximum of 5 pages (without a cover page and reference page).
Use minimum 12pt, single line spacing, 2cm margin left and right, 3cm margin top and
bottom on your A4 paper.
2. A cover page must include the following:
a. Group number.
b. Student’s names and student’s numbers.
c. A statement on who is responsible for what parts of the assignment and codes.
3. Present and discuss topology optimized results for one optimization problem using in-
house 99 line or 88 line code. For discussion of the topology optimized results, one can
a look at Exercise 2 in week 9 for inspiration.
4. For the final project, compare the topology and shape optimized designs and analyze
the results (comparisons must include stiffness, von Mises stress etc); discuss the
comparison between experimental and numerical results.

What should NOT be in the report:

1. Figures in which lines cannot be distinguished from each other


2. Text in captions and axis labels that cannot be read due to too small font size.
