Once installed, you can double click an LGS file to open it in TruView, or open TruView and click
on the top left button that looks like a folder and find the LGS file you want to open.
2.0 Navigating a Scan:
Once a file is opened, you will see the plan view (a top-down view, like a map). It will have
multiple red dots. Each of these represents a location that a scan was taken at.
Double clicking any of these red dots will take you to that scan. If photos were taken at that
location, your view will be coloured, if only scan data was taken, it will be black and white. You
can click and drag the mouse to move your view or use your mouse scroll to zoom in and out.
Other red dots will be visible, and double clicking them will take you to that scan.
An Example of a Colour Photo Location
A blue circle will appear around your mouse. This will help
show what surface you are clicking on. To get a
measurement, click your first point of interest, then click
the second. The program will then show you the absolute
distance between your points, and the XY distance (the
distance between the points excluding the height
difference). Please note that getting measurements can
be difficult, due to every measurement being point-to-
point. For example, finding the distance between parallel planes requires selecting points that
have the same X or Y value.
