Micro-Teach Lesson Plan

This lesson plan aims to teach students about Canada's seven geographic regions through the use of Google Earth. Students will first be introduced to the seven regions and their locations. Then each region will be explored individually, highlighting defining features. As an example, the teacher will show how to locate Flin Flon in the Canadian Shield using Google Earth. Students will then be assigned a specific Canadian city or town to research within one of the six remaining regions. They will use Google Earth to identify two defining geographic features of that assigned area. Finally, students will share their findings with the class. The teacher will observe students using Google Earth and record the features they identify.
