Ey SAP Knowledge Base Article 2975498 - Compression step in a process chain is not compressing data ‘Component: BW-WHM-DBA-ADSO (DataStore Object (advanced), Version: 1, Released On: 02.10.2020 | Symptom ‘When executing a process chain with the step to compress data (Clean Up Old Requests in DataStore Objects (advanced)] in one aDSO, the compression is not actually compressing any data, | Environment SAP NetWeaver BW BW/4HANA | Reproducing the Issue In transaction RSPC1, execute the affected process chain, | Cause ‘Wrong configuration or missing update some requests to all delta targets. | Resolution 1. First, you need to identify the type of your ADSO: Open your ADSO, go to "Show settings", i you have below settings marked with a "X’, your aDSO is a cube-ike aDSO: Activate/Compress Data [x] All Characteristies are Key [x] 2. If your aDSO is a planning aDSO, below settings will be flagged too! Planning Mode [x] On that case you have to create a step in your process chain, before the compression, to switch from Plan Mode to Load Mode. And after the eompress, switch back (from Load Mode to Plan Mode) 3. Then, you have to check ifthe aDSO requests has been updated to all delta targets. Only requests can be cleaned up/compressed in a cube like aDSO, which were updated to all delta targets.
