READING AND REFLECTING ON ARTICLE AND WEB MATERIALS

GUIDELINES FOR ENT403


Assignment 1: Written Assignments (grading of the course = 15%)
There are 5 grading components in this course. Students MUST complete all of the following tasks.
They are asked to work in groups of 4-5. The reflections should be submitted by the due date
assigned by the lecturer.
- Task 1 (the end of Week 1): write a reflection of 300 words on the articles they have read to
answer Question 1.
- Task 2 (the end of Week 2): write a reflection of 300 words on the articles they have read to
answer Question 2.
- Task 3 (the end of Week 3): write a reflection of 300 words on the articles they have read to
answer Question 3.
- Task 4 (the end of Week 4): write a reflection of 300 words on the articles they have read to
answer Question 4.
- Task 5 (TBA by lecturers): group presentation (20 minutes = 15 minutes for presentation +
5 minutes for questions) on the topics that students decide on after they have read the
articles.
Questions for the assignment
1. What are 21st century skills?
2. How are these sets of skills similar to and/or different from each other?
3. How has higher education responded to the demands for these sets of skills?
4. How does your understanding of these skills matter to you?
Suggestions to help students complete Task 5 (students do not have to follow the topic suggested
here)
- Work in groups of 4-5
- Carefully read and re-read the articles posted on LMS
- Define the sets of 21st century skills
- Compare these skills with the other ones
- Look for general claims about responses of higher education sector to meeting the current
demands for these skills across OECD countries and other ones
- Link what they have known to Vietnam and their own contexts to withdraw original values

- Discuss with their group mates to form an argument for their presentation
- Prepare approximately 12 slides for their presentation
- Strictly follow the APA 7th ed. referencing style when citing information from these articles
Assignment 2: Group Presentation (grading of the course = 15%)

The group who has worked together on the written assignments will present their report on the
writing assignments. Each presentation lasts from 15-16 minutes plus 5 minutes for questions and
answers. This group presentation should be given in Week 5 or 6, depending on the lecturer’s time
arrangement.

Milestones to complete the presentation:


- Week 1: read and understand 4 articles
- Week 2: read and understand the other 5 articles
- Week 3: define the sets of skills + discuss the formulation of arguments with the lecturer
- Week 4: compare these sets of skills + look for information on responses of higher
education to these skills + use details to support the arguments
- Week 5: link the arguments to Vietnam’s context and individual circumstances in terms of
professional and social life
- Week 5: prepare slides for the presentation
- Week 6: present the report
