Title: A Project Investigation An Investigative Report

1.0 Assignment
To individually carry out an in-depth investigation into an actual project, submit a written report and make
an informed seminar presentation to your year group.

2.0 Objective

The Actual Project Case: here an agreed project should be fully investigated giving an overview of the
project, rationale, owner, sponsor, stakeholders, project life cycle and timeline, critical issues /problems
arising and solutions found and give an assessment of project performance and benefits.
Appropriate literature should be reviewed and a critical reflection undertaken upon any conflicting views
with good practice, critical failure factors and critical success factors involved in the implementation of the
project. These must be linked back to the material covered in the Lectures for Topics 1-7

3.1 Written Submission - To include: the report, (and any further documentation in an appendix). It
is expected that the report document should be not more than 1500 words of the students own work –
references titles etc can be excluded, typed on one side of A4 sheets, with the Arial 12 point font, 1.5
spaced with full details of the assignment given on the first page. An electronic version of this document
must be submitted via the Blackboard system. It should be fully referenced in accordance with standard
bibliographic practice (BS 5605) HARVARD SYSTEM (names).

4.0 Assessment (overall module weighting 50%)


The written documentation will be assessed against the following criteria
