Profhilo
Profhilo
1. Expect some redness, small pin prick marks, and minor bruising. Avoid touching the area for 6 hours after the treatment.
2. The product is injected in small ‘deposits’, you may be able to see them initially, but they settle usually within hours. It may be
possible to feel the product where it has been injected under the skin. It will settle, there is no need to massage. If you notice
firm swellings at the injection sites, this is normal. Do NOT massage these. Instead leave them to disperse naturally and they
will get absorbed within 24-48 hours.
3. Stay Hydrated. Drinking plenty of water is particularly vital after Profhilo treatment, as these injectables work by attracting
water molecules, thereby amplifying their volumizing effect. Avoid excessive salt for 24 hours as this can dehydrate.
4. Arnica pills and/ or Arnica cream can be used to decrease bruising and swelling.
5. Avoid strenuous exercise or anything that increases your heart rate for 24 to 48 hours.
6. Avoid sun exposure for at least 6 hours, but recommended to avoid 48 hours. If you must go outside, use sunscreen with SPF
50+, starting 6 hours after the treatment and reapply every 2 hours if outdoors.
7. Avoid other forms of heat exposure for 48 hours, such as tanning bed, hot tubs, hot showers or baths, saunas, or cooking over a
hot stove.
8. Avoid sun bathing, and extremes of heat or cold for 14 days post treatment.
9. Avoid consuming alcohol for 24 to 48 hours.
10. You can apply ice pack or an ice cube covered in a thin cloth (so it doesn’t stick to the skin and cause pain) 5-10 minutes every 2
hours. This will help ease swelling, itching, bruising, and any other pain.
11. You can use Tylenol or Panadol (paracetamol = acetaminophen) for discomfort. No NSAIDs (ibuprofen, aspirin) for 24 hours as
they can increase bleeding.
12. Try your best to avoid sleeping on the injected areas. Try to sleep on your back, face up and slightly elevated. Avoid lying down
for 6 hours
13. Avoid wearing makeup the day of procedure and 24 hours after the procedure. After 24 hours sunscreen and makeup can be
applied, and the area can be gently washed with a gentle cleanser. Use a sensitive cleanser to avoid additional skin irritation.
14. Avoid Facial Treatments, Radiofrequency, HydraFacial, Microdermabrasion, CACI, Microneedling, and Dermaplanning
treatments for up to 2 weeks to reduce the risk of complications.
15. Avoid anti-inflammatory drugs (such as ibuprofen or aspirin) or supplements (St Johns Wart, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin A, B or E)
for 2 days before and after treatment, as these can increase your risk of bruising.
16. When To Contact Your Doctor:
a. If redness, tenderness, itching or swelling worsens after 3 days rather than settling.
b. If you notice blanching, mottled bruising/redness (mottled appearance), or pain (beyond tenderness as you would expect with
bruising or swelling).
