Stitches used:

Knitting: Main pattern

Indicated by the red frame, it consists of 8 rows, knitted according to the chart. The parts
framed by the dashed line are worked in repeats on both sides of the central cable pattern.
Even (WS) rows are purled throughout.

left increase section / left repeats / centre / right repeats / right increase
section

= knit

= yarn over

= right leaning decrease (knit two together)

= left leaning decrease (slip one stitch knitwise, knit nest stitch then pull slipped stitch
over knit stitch).

= slip 4 stitches to cable needle and hold to back, knit next 4

stitches, then knit 4 stitches from the cable needle.

= increase (pick up strand between two stitches to make one knit stitch)

Crochet: single crochet

Gauge: 18 stitches / 24 rows = 10x10 cm in main pattern on the right side.

Back: Cast on 80 (88) 96 stitches and knit following the pattern distribution of the chart.

Row 1: 9 (10) 11 repeats of the right side pattern, 8-stitch cable pattern, 9 (10) 11 repeats of
left side pattern.

Row 3: as per chart.

In Row 5 of the pattern start increasing by making 1 stitch on both edges. Starting from here,
repeat this increase once every 4 rows. (I.e. increases are always made in Row 1 and 5 of the
pattern.)

There will be 4 kinds of row-endings throughout our work alternating in the order shown by
the chart (highlighted in yellow).

Continue increases until you reach 13 repeats of the 8-row pattern. You should have 130
(138) 146 stitches on your needles at this point. From here on continue straight (no more
increases). Make a total of 19 (19) 20 repeats of the 8-row pattern, but do not work all rows
of the last repeat: here, in row 3 (5) 3 bind off all stitches very loosely.

Front: Same as back.

Block the finished parts (lay them out and shape them to the desired dimensions while still
wet, pinning them to shape).

Sew sides together, as well as arm cut on one point on each arm. Make a single crochet
edging for the bottom part, the arm cut and the neck cut. Pull it together somewhat when
crocheting along the top part and the arm cut. As for the bottom edging, skip every 4th
stitch (picking the yarn overs is the easiest, so you don't need to count). This way the bottom
will be pulled together, creating a baggy look (plenty of positive ease) for the garment.

Shoulder straps: Starting at 11 (12) 13 cm from the centre of the front piece, pick up 6
stitches and make single crochet rows for 12 (13) 14 cm on both sides.

Happy knitting!
