Uses
The wind cooling and intermediate pressure Air compressor Model
CVF-30/30 used on ships can be widely used for the starting or braking of ship
diesel engines or water and electricity equipments, as well as for blow moulding,
cabins and etc. And it can also be used as an air source for transportation,

Notes to be read before using the air compressor
Ⅰ. Check the following when receiving the air compressor
1. Check whether the model and specifications that you ordered are correct.
2. Check whether the compressor has been contaminated or damaged during
shipment.
3. Check whether the attached materials and spare parts are complete.
Ⅱ. Installation and preparation of the air compressor
1. The installation site should be well ventilated and clean with a certain amount
of space retained so as to make easy installation disassembly and
maintenance
2. power supply and voltage should be checked.
3. The oil extraction pole on the connecting rod cap of the air compressor sprays
the lubricating oil in the crankcase to every abrasive component. L-DAB100
lubricating oil, as required by GB12691 Air Compressor Oil shall be used, and
L-DAB150 compressor oil can be used in summer.
Ⅲ.Check the following before operation
1. Check the compressor lubricant level, which should be up to the top level of
the oiling hole.
2. Check whether the tightness of the belt is proper (type B belt).
3. when turning the pulley with hand, there should be no abnormal phenomena.
4. Check whether the pipes are unchecked.
Ⅳ.Notes for starting operation
1. Open the relief valve to reduce the load of the compressor to zero.
2. Check the turning direction of the belt with a quick but short start of the
compressor.
3. If there is no abnormal sound for about 3 minutes after starting, shut the relief
valve to gradually raise the relief pressure to the specified requirement.
Ⅴ.Stoppage
1. If possible, stop the compressor when it is under no load

2. Turn off the power supply.
Ⅵ.Protection valve
The protection valve has been adjusted with the lead seal attached, so it
should not adjusted at the user’s will , otherwise the manufacturer will
bear no responsibility for its safety .
Ⅶ.Notes for regular inspection and maintenance
1. Check the lubricant level daily to ensure its proper lubrication function of
the compressor.
2. Replace with fresh lubricant after the compressor has run for 50 hours for
the first time. Then after 250 hours of operation, replace with fresh
lubricant again. After that, the replacement of lubricant should be made
every 500 hours. Clean the crankshaft case every time the lubricant is
replaced.
3. Regularly check, clean or replace the filter cartridge of the air filter.
4. Check and clean the air cock after 1000 hours of operation.
5. When the compressor has run for 3,000 to 5,000 hours, check the wear of
the piston ring, link bush, copper sleeve, piston pin, cylinder, piston and
crankshaft. Accordingly adjust the protection valve, and clean the filth and
carbon deposit inside the cooling pipe or exhaust duct (The carbon deposit
must be cleaned regularly, since explosion caused by the carbon deposit
inside the exhaust duct is a common typical grave accident.).
6. The pressure gauge should be checked once a year.
7. Overhauling should be undertaken once every three years.
Ⅷ. Main working and auto-control principles
In order to compress the air, pistons move up and down in the cylinder.
When the low pressure piston moves in the stage of down travel, air gets into
the low pressure cylinder from the air filter through the low pressure air suction

valve, and the exhaust valve remains shut, when the piston moves in the stage of
up travel, air is compressed and the inlet valve is shut, thus the compressed air
opens the exhaust valve to allow the first-stage compressed air to be cooled
through the middle cooling pipe. When the high pressure piston moves in the
stage of down travel, the first-stage compressed air is sucked into the high
pressure cylinder and the exhaust valve remains shut, when the piston moves in
the stage of up travel, air is compressed again, thus the inlet valve is shut and
the compressed air opens the exhaust valve to allow the second-stage
compressed air to enter the gas tank.
Ⅸ.Instructions for the air compressor of Model ZK (auto-control)
1) Basic auto-control item and its working principle
The auto-control air compressor has the function of automatic starting,
stopping and load releasing. When the pressure inside the container is below the
set lower limit, the compressor will start automatically. And when the pressure
inside the container reaches the set upper limit, the compressor will
automatically stop and release the first stage pressure through the
electromagnetic valve so as to ensure that the compressor will be under zero
load when restarted.
The lower limit (stop) of the pressure of the pressure controller is set to
2Mpa and the upper limit (stop) 3Mpa when the compressor is produced. And
users can reset them according to.
The auto-control compressor can be operated automatically or manually,
which is up to users choice.
2) Other auto-control items
In order to meet users’ higher needs, the following auto-control items can
be supplied in accordance with the contract:
a. If two air compressors (both the main and auxiliary) are used, the
starting order and pressure of each can be set, (the starting
pressures are respectively set to 2Mpa and 1.8Mpa at factory) and after a period

of operation, the starting order of the two compressors can be adjusted through
the order selection switch.
b. Automatic stopping when the discharge temperature is too high: The
temperature controller and sensor are fitted. When the second-stage discharge
temperature is higher than or equal to 200℃, an alarm will immediately be sent
out and the compressor will automatically stop.
