APPLIED PHYSICS

MICRO PROJECT
SUBJECT: APPLIED PHYSICS SUBJECT CODE:4300004

TERM DATE: 23-09-2022 to 24-01-2023

Instructions:

1. Every student must have to do ANY ONE micro project from the given list of A section in the group of
3 to 5 students.

2. Student can make working model/chart/simulation/power point presentation/ about the micro project
using given HINT.

3. Every group of student must have to submit the micro project report also as described in the below
project report format

LIST OF MICRO PROJECTS:

(GROUP)

1. Measure physical quantities using smart phone applications.


2. To study the estimation of error in the measurement of radius of cylinder.
3. Arduino: Physical quantities such as Voltage, Magnetic field, Temperature, Light, Sound
and distance can be measured with the help of low-cost sensors and Arduino
4. Prepare the working model of Vernier caliper.
5. Collect wires and sheets of different gauges from market and estimate errors in measurements
using analog and digital Vernier Calipers.
6. Waves in string: standing waves in string using woofer loudspeaker.
7. Noise Level measurement: measure noise Level at different places in campus.
8. Sugar and bending of light: prepare a solution of sugar and water to demonstrate bending of
light.
9. Viscosity: Collect 3 to 5 liquids and prepare a working model to differentiate liquids based on
viscosity and demonstrate their applications. [you can use the viscometer of Physics lab]
10. The effect of length , mass and arc on the frequency of a pendulum.
11. Demonstrate the variations in surface tension characteristics of liquid by adding impurity and by
changing temperature and make a report on factors affecting the surface tension property of
liquid and make report. (Hint: one can use simulation also)
12. Demonstrate the variations in Young Modulus characteristics of different wires of different
thickness and material using simulation and make a report. (Hint: one can use simulation also)
13. Demonstrate Heat Transfer and thermal equilibrium using simulation and make report. (Hint:
one can use simulation also)
14. Demonstrate wave interference of sound and light waves using simulation and make report.
(Hint: one can use simulation also)
15. Demonstrate the variations in viscosity of liquid with changing temperature using simulation and
make a report. (Hint: one can use simulation also)
16. Make chart about different types of thermometers.
17. Make Chart of Thermometry and temperature scales
HINT: Thermometry-definition, Temperature-definition, Various temperature scales-Celsius
scale, Fahrenheit scale and Kelvin scale, Temperature conversion formula for these temperature
scale
18. Make Chart on Elasticity
HINT : Stress-Strain with their types, Hooke’s law, Moduli of elasticity, Young’s modulus, Bulk
modulus, Shear modulus, Stress-Strain curve
