BrightDrop Video Recording Instructions

Follow these instructions to record your video. Please send the video file to your BrightDrop Account
Manager when complete (the individual who sent these instructions to you.)

For Windows Users

• Locate the Windows application called "Camera". If you are not familiar with the Camera
application in Windows, please type "Camera" into the application search screen, which is
located in the lower-left corner of the screen for Windows 10 users.
• Once the Camera application is open, click on the button on the right side of the screen that
looks like a video recorder. The video recorder button should now be enlarged.
• Click the same video recorder button again to begin recording... and click the same button to
stop the video.
• Here is the file path where you can find your video: This PC > Pictures > Camera Roll

For Mac Users

• The easiest way to record video on your Mac is with the built-in QuickTime app.
• Open your Applications folder to find QuickTime.
• Once it's open, go to File > New Screen Recording and then click the Record button.
• You can choose between recording a portion of your screen or the entire screen.

Note: Please use the following tips when recording a video:

▪ Record in a well-lit and quiet area.
▪ Use a headset to assure the voice quality is clear.
▪ Dress nicely—no hats, tank tops…etc. Make a good first impression.
▪ Clean up any clutter that may be in view of your webcam. If possible, position your
webcam so there is a wall or some kind of solid color behind you.
▪ Speak clearly and speak with confidence.
▪ Record using computer if possible, instead of a cell phone. This makes the recording
more professional and the client can see workspace you would be using. If not able to
record using computer, make sure phone is sitting stable, not handheld, and still sit in
workspace you’d be using if hired
▪ Recording time should be no less than one minute, no more than two minutes (if you
run over a few seconds, that is not a problem).
▪ Please don’t mention any other VA company (Upwork, My Outdesk, onlinejobs, etc.)
name when citing your work experience/s—briefly narrate your role/tasks and what
skills/learning you acquired.
▪ Don’t mention a “job posting” you saw or make that the reason you’re applying – you’re
applying because you want to be a VA!
▪ Please share your video by uploading it to Google Drive (or Dropbox, sharepoint, etc.)
and sending the link. Do not upload to Youtube.
