Part A Evs

This document proposes a micro-project on improving waste management practices at an effluent treatment plant. The aims are to enhance environmental compliance, reduce costs, and promote sustainable waste management. The methodology includes collecting historical waste data, assessing current practices, reviewing regulations and technologies, and developing a comprehensive waste management proposal. The project addresses course outcomes related to developing environmental awareness, conserving ecosystems, applying pollution reduction techniques, and environmental ethics. An action plan outlines tasks from researching the topic to presenting the final report. The group members are listed.

PART A – Micro-Project Proposal

Title of Micro-Project

Prepare a Detail Report on Waste Management

effluent treatment plant

1.0 Brief Introduction

The instrumental in providing transportation convenience, has a substantial negative impact on the
environment. Pollution from this industry primarily arises from the combustion of fossil fuels in
vehicles, emitting harmful substances like carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon
monoxide (CO), particulate matter (PM), and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). These emissions
contribute to air pollution, climate change, and adverse health effects. Efforts are underway to
address this issue through cleaner technologies like electric vehicles, aimed at reducing the
environmental impact of the automobile industry.Effluent Treatment Plants or (ETP) are used by
most of the companies in various industries to clean water and remove any toxic and non-toxic
materials or chemicals from it so that that water can be reused or released in the environment
which will do less harm to the environment.

2.0 Aim of the Micro-Project

This Micro-Project aims at:
 Aim: To improve waste management practices at the effluent treatment plant (ETP).
 Benefits: Enhance environmental compliance, reduce operational costs, and promote
sustainable and eco-friendly waste management at the ETP.

3.0 Course Outcomes addressed (COs):

CO 1: Develop awareness regrading environment.
CO 3: Conserve ecosystem and biodiversity.
CO 4: Apply techniques to reduce Environmental Pollution.
CO 5: Manage social issues and Environmental Ethics as lifelong learning

4.0 Proposed Methodology

5.0 Data Collection and Analysis:
5.1 Collect historical data on waste management.
5.2 Assess waste types, quantities, and segregation practices.
5.3 Analyze regulatory requirements and operational costs.
6.0 Literature Review and Best Practices:
6.1 Review relevant literature and identify best practices.
6.2 Explore technological solutions.

7.0 Proposal and Implementation:

7.1 Develop a comprehensive waste management proposal.
7.2 Collaborate with ETP staff for input and fee

5.0 Literature Review:

The Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment developed the Municipal Wastewater
Effluent Strategy in 2009. The Strategy aims to provide a harmonized national framework for
managing wastewater. It was identified that the Far North, due to its extreme climatic
conditions and remoteness, would require careful consideration in order to produce a viable
means to improve human and environmental health protection. The North was therefore
given a 5-year window to conduct research in order to develop feasible standards and an
approach that will protect human and environmental health. The objectives of this report are
to provide a snapshot of the current regulatory framework and types of systems that exist in
the North, conduct a literature review on the performance of existing systems in cold
climates, and provide a summary and gap analysis of the current modeling approaches used
for lagoon and wetland design in cold climates. Wastewater treatment in Nunavut is currently
regulated .
This project discusses on the subject, sources and impacts of pollution by Automobile
Industry. It focuses on Causes of Pollution and its influence on environment and how it
affects Human. In this project we have mentioned how the Pollution cause by Automobile
Industry. We have collected the information about Pollution cause by Automobile Industry
from the websites and articles. This project will help properly understand the causes and
impacts of pollution cause by Automobile Industry on environment and also on human
health.
