New TIMUN Clubs' Status Report TIMUN ISLT

The club held 12 events over the trail period including recruitment, training sessions, meetings, and a mock simulation. Member satisfaction with events is rated 8 out of 10 while communication with the national TIMUN association is rated 5 out of 10. To improve this, the club suggests more frequent email updates from the national association and establishing clear points of contact. They also hope to increase in-person gatherings like an annual summit. Currently they have a mini simulation in progress covering UNDP and COPUOS committees on emissions and militarization of space.

Overall performance note of the club:
Very good; The feedback on TIMUN ISLT's activities and simulations shows that members
are generally satisfied with the quality of events and simulations offered. Members rate the topics
covered, promotion of learning about the UN, and communication from the organizers positively,
with average scores of 8 to 10 out of 10. However, there is room for improvement in better
organizing and coordinating activities to make them run more smoothly. Some members suggested
having more group activities and social events to foster a sense of community. The feedback from
TIMUN ISLT’s members indicates that members are mostly satisfied and likely to continue
participating.

Communication rate with the National Association TIMUN (0-10):
5/10
What are the ways you suggest to improve that rate?
To improve the communication rate, we suggest sending more frequent email updates from
the National Association to stay informed on relevant news and events. We also suggest
establishing clear points of contact within the National Association that different TIMUN clubs,
and the different departments within, can reach out to with questions or ideas; Our secretary
generals have little to no communication with the board. Most importantly, we hope to increase
opportunities for in-person gatherings, such as an annual summit, where we can connect face-to-
face with the National Board and fellow TIMUN clubs. By working closely together, we can
further TIMUN’s mission and make an even greater collective impact.
Do you have any events in progress?
We do currently have an event in progress which is our mini simulation "Concordia:
Dimensions in Dialogue". There are two committees involved:

• UNDP: The committee will discuss CO2 emissions in the MENA region. With many oil
producing countries in the region, MENA accounts for a large share of global CO2
emissions. The committee will tackle policy solutions to transition to cleaner energy
sources and more sustainable practices to curb the region's CO2 footprint. This will help
participants gain awareness of environmental issues, improve research and negotiation
skills, and participate in efforts to address climate change.

• COPUOS:The committee will discuss the militarization of space. The increasing

deployment of military capabilities and technologies in space raises concerns for world
peace and sustainable space exploration. The committee will explore diplomatic solutions
and confidence building measures among space-faring nations to realize a peaceful outer
space. Participating in this committee will give members a chance to assess global security
issues and engage in diplomatic discussions to discover viable answers.
