II. RATIONALE
Gardening has always been touted as a relaxing recreational activity that can
provide great personal rewards. During this time, when many people are working at
home and students are learning at home, gardening can be a positive family-
inclusive activity to adopt.
Remote schooling is new for most all students in our community. Hands-on
activities like gardening can encourage students to participate in a way that will
enhance learning.
From a mental aspect, growing a vegetable garden may be a way for adults
and children to cope with boredom and help families gain a sense of security.
Empty grocery store shelves and mile-long lines at local food banks are
evidence of the major disruptions that have occurred in the food supply chain as a
result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has further exacerbated the
longstanding challenge of food insecurity across households in the Philippines,
disrupting access to fresh and nutritious foods at affordable prices for growing
urban populations, and in effect has exposed the true fragility of our nation’s food
system.
Urban agriculture gardens have played a major role in addressing the effects
of the pandemic, serving as a space that not only provides access to fresh foods to
alleviate food insecurity but also as a source of social support and emotional well-
being for community residents during this time of crisis.
With the launching of this project, the teacher- proponents will be able to
provide school supplies and assistance to the Indigenous Peoples beneficiaries and
their families by generating funds in growing and producing vegetables. More
importantly, the project can also provide financial assistance in purchasing goods
for the School- Based Feeding Program to combat malnutrition.

B. Manpower Requirements
C. Technical Aspect
Anyone who is willing to invest some time every day or two to nurture
the plants can grow a vegetable garden. It doesn’t take a lot of money, time,
or talent, although some of each would be helpful. With patience and
practice, your skills will improve every year. Don’t be discouraged if the first
attempt isn’t a huge success.

D. Production Techniques
Growing vegetables isn’t all that different from other types of gardening.
However, there is less room for mistakes. Successful vegetable gardening is about
consistency – making sure growing conditions are properly maintained for the entire
growing season. Let plants go dry just for a little while, or forget to fertilize, and you
may sacrifice a large portion of your harvest.
For us to be able to have the bountiful yields we will follow the this simple
tips for bountiful yields.
