Introduction

- This manual describes the steps to install the MS software for DE100 printer to the system in which the
basic software MS01 version 4.2/10.0 was installed.

- Read this manual thoroughly and handle the DE100 printer appropriately to achieve the printer’s full
performance.

- Keep this manual handy in place for your quick reference whenever necessary.

- Refer to “MS01 Basic Software Installation Guide”, “DE100 Installation Guide” (delivered with the printer),
and any “Installation Guide” for optional software to be used.

- Menu items displayed on the “Maintenance” screen for ICIII server are different from those of ICIII
workstation. This manual explains based on the ICIII server.

1 IC III Specification to connect with DE100 printer

Note

The table below shows the recommended minimum system requirements for IC III.
If the IC III in your configuration does not meet the requirements, you may experience inconveniences such
as:
- Decrease in processing performance
- Slow keyboard response
- Rolling back of paper while ordering.

*1. ICIII should satisfy the following conditions concerning USB ports:
- While the Printer PC is off, power is not supplied to the USB devices.

- ICIII can supply 5 V ± 5% of power voltage and 500mA of power current to the USB devices.

2 Preparation for Installation

2.1 Basic System Software

Prior to installing DE100 Printer Software, MS01 version 4.2 (Ver4.2.0.82601 or later) or version 10.0
(Ver10.0.0.12678 or later) should be installed. To confirm the version of MS01 system, refer to “Section 4.1
Confirm MS01 Software Version” in this guide.
When installing MS software, refer to “MS01 4.2 Installation Guide” or “MS01 10.0 Installation Guide”.
When installing MS01, select the Setup Type “MS01 with Printer Support” or “MS01 with Printer and Scanner
Support”, and select the Printer Type “none”.

2.2 Installation DVD

To install DE100 software, following software DVDs are required according to the system configuration.

- MS01 version 4.2 DE100 Printer Software DVD (Windows7)


- MS01 version 10.0 DE100 Printer Software DVD (Windows10)

Important: For various settings subsequent to the DE100 printer installation, and for the DE100 printer
Maintenance, refer to manuals supplied with DE100 printer.

3 Installation Workflow

3.1 When connecting one DE100 printer

In this configuration, connecting with the network is not necessarily required. But when installing MS optional software
(MS12-MS21) to ICIII, either connecting with “Network HUB” or installing “Microsoft Loopback Adapter” is required.

Precondition: Prior to installing DE100 printer Software, the Operating System should be installed to ICIII and
required initial settings should be completed.
1) Install the DE100 printer body (hardware) Refer to “DE100 printer Installation Guide” for DE100
printer hardware.

2) Perform Initial Setting of ICIII Set the initial values to Operating System and refer to
the section “4.5Install Loopback Adapter” in this guide.

3) Connect DE100 printer body with ICIII, and Refer to “DE100 printer Installation Guide” for DE100
perform Initial setting of DE100 printer printer hardware.

4) Install MS01 Software to ICIII Select the System Type “MS01 with printer Support” to
begin installing MS01.
(Select “MS01 with Printer and Scanner Support” if
you need to connect the film scanner.)
Set the Printer Type to “None” during MS01 installation.
Refer to Section“MS01 WITH PRINTER SUPPORT
(CHAPTER 4)” in MS01 Software INSTALLATION
GUIDE and “4.1 Confirm MS01 Software Version” in
this guide.

5) Install DE100 Printer Software Refer to Section “4.2 Install DE100 Printer Software to
MS01 Server” in this guide.

6) Change the registered System In the Maintenance [0601 System Configuration]


Configuration screen, select “DE100” from available devices, and
then click [Add] button.
Refer to Section “4.3 Add a DE100 printer to MS01
Server” in this guide.

After completing the registration, change to the


Operator Mode by clicking “Tool” => clicking “Logoff” =>
enter “operator” into "Password" field.

3.2 When connecting four DE100 printers

In this configuration, connecting with the network is not necessarily required. But when installing MS optional software

2) Perform Initial Setting of ICIII Set the initial values to Operating System and refer to

3) Connect DE100 printer body with ICIII, and Refer to “DE100 printer Installation Guide” for DE100
perform Initial setting of DE100 printer printer hardware

4) Install MS01 Software to ICIII Select the System Type “MS01 with printer Support” to
begin installing MS01.
(Select “MS01 with Printer and Scanner Support” if
you need to connect the film scanner.)
Set the Printer Type to “None” during MS01 installation.
Refer to Section“MS01 WITH PRINTER SUPPORT
(CHAPTER 4)” in MS01 Software INSTALLATION
GUIDE and “4.1 Confirm MS01 Software Version” in
this guide.

5) Install DE100 Printer Software Refer to Section “4.2 Install DE100 Printer Software to
MS01 Server” in this guide.

6) Change the registered System In the Maintenance [0601 System Configuration]


Configuration screen, select “DE100” from available devices, and
then click [Add] button (for two printers).
Refer to Section “4.3 Add a DE100 printer to MS01
Server” and “4.4 Add the Second and the subsequent
DE100 printers to MS01 Server” in this guide.

After completing the registration, change to the


Operator Mode by clicking “Tool” => clicking “Logoff” =>
enter “operator” into "Password" field.

4 Installation Steps

4.1 Confirm MS01 Software Version

1 On the MS01 Server, ensure that the “View Orders” or “View Images” screen is displayed.

2 Press [F1] key on the keyboard.

The About MS01 dialog box opens.

3 If the MS01 software version displayed is version 4.2.0.82601 (or later) or version 10.0.0.12678 (or
later), proceed with the next step based on the workflow described in Chapter 3 of this guide.

If the MS01 software version displayed is not version 4.2.0.82601 (or later) or version 10.0.0.12678 (or
later), you must install the correct software version before proceeding.

After completing above steps, proceed to the next Section “4.2 Install DE100 Printer Software to MS01
Server” in this guide.

4.2 Install DE100 Printer Software to MS01 Server

1 Ensure that all orders in the system have completed.

2 If the printer is not connected, power on the printer and then connect it to the system.

3 On the MS01 Server, insert the MS01 4.2/10.0 MSP80 DE100 Printer Software installation DVD into
the MS01 Server’s DVD-ROM drive (i.e., the ICIII installed as the MS01 Server).

Important: If the lab’s system includes multiple computer, such as an SPC (MCU), MS01
workstation, etc., you only need to install on the MS01 Server. After this installation is
completed, Software is automatically applied to the whole system.
If you are using MS01 workstation turn off the machine, and please re-start after the
installation to MS01 Server is completed.

4 Click "!" icon at the upper right on View Order

5 If shutdown screen appears, Clicks [OK] button


to shutdown the PC.

(Note) If there are remaining unprocessed


orders, this message will be displayed but
please continue shutting down clicking "ignore"
button.

6 Start the PC.

7 An InstallShield Wizard titled “Choose Setup
Language” opens.

Select an appropriate language for your region.

8 Click [Next] button.

“Welcome” screen of InstallShield Wizard


opens.

9 Click [Next] button.

”Ready to Install the Program” screen is


displayed.

10 Click [Install] button.

The installation begins.

11 If an installation confirmation screen appears


for the device software, Click [Install] button.

12 “InstallShield Wizard Complete” screen is


displayed.
Remove the installation DVD from the
DVD-ROM drive and Click [Finish] button.

The wizard closes, and the system restarts.

13 Once the MS01 “View Orders” screen appears
press [F1] key on the keyboard.

Then “About MS01” dialog box opens.

14 Ensure that the entry for the “MS01 4.2 DE100 Printer Software” or “MS01 10.0 DE100 Printer
Software” has been added; it should now be in the list displayed on “About MS01” dialog box.

The software update on the MS01 Server is complete now.

15 Click [OK] button.

“About MS01” dialog box closes.

16 If you have any workstations, restart the system. Then “Watchdog” application invokes installation of
the software update.

After completing above steps, if the printer is in sleep status, restart the system after changing the
printer to standby status.

Then, go back to either 3.1 (6) or 3.2 (6) depending on your configuration in Chapter 3 in this guide.

4.3 Change DE100 Printer Setting

1 Change the print speed priority setting.

When using sorted paper or when printing various sizes,


In the maintenance tool of DE 100, change "Printing speed priority setting" to "OFF".
For the print speed priority setting, refer to "Frontier DE100 Operation Guide (Administrator Edition)".

4.4 Add a DE100 printer to MS01 Server

1 Ensure that the MS01 Server is in Support Mode.

Note) To enter the Support Mode, click [Tool] button and then select [LOGOFF], and then enter the
password “5u990rtm0d3”.

2 From the Start menu on the Windows Task Bar, select “Maintenance”.

Then “Maintenance Application” screen opens.

3 In the “Maintenance” screen, select [06 Output


Devices] and then select [0601 System
Configuration].

Then “System Configuration” opens.

4 Select “DE100” out of “Available Devices” List Box.

5 Click [Add] button.

Then “DE100” is added to “Current Devices”


List Box on the right.

6 Select “DE100” out of “Current Devices” List Box.

7 Click [Edit] button.

Then “Printer Setup” screen opens.

8 Select an appropriate printer out of “Selected


Printer” List Box.

9 Click [OK] button.

Then “Printer Setup” screen closes and returns


to “System Configuration” screen.

10 Click [OK] button.

Then “Maintenance” dialog box shown on the


right is displayed.

11 Click [OK] button.

Then “Maintenance” dialogue box closes, subsequently “System Configuration” screen closes, and
then returns to “Maintenance Application” screen.

12 Click [Close] button.

Then “Maintenance Application” screen closes.

13 Restart the system.

After completing above steps,

In the case of connecting two or more DE100 printers, please proceed to


Chapter "4.4 Add the Second and the subsequent DE100 printers to MS01 Server ".

4.5 Add the Second and the subsequent DE100 printers to
MS01 Server

1 Ensure that the MS01 Server is in Support Mode.

Note) To enter the Support Mode, click [Tool] button and then select [LOGOFF], and then enter the
password “5u990rtm0d3”.

2 From the Start menu on the Windows Task Bar, select “Maintenance”.

Then “Maintenance Application” screen opens.

3 In the “Maintenance” screen, select [06 Output


Devices] and then select [0601 System
Configuration].

Then “System Configuration” screen opens.

4 Select “DE100” out of “Available Devices” List Box on the left.

5 Click [Add] button.

Note) At this point, the second DE100 printer is


going to be added. The second DE100 printer
will have the different name from the first DE100
printer.

The second DE100 printer is added to the right


“Current Devices” List Box named as “DE100-2”.

6 Select “DE100-2” out of “Current Devices” List Box.

7 Click [Edit] button.

Then “Printer Setup” screen opens.

8 Select an appropriate printer from “Selected


Printer” List Box at the bottom of the screen.

9 Click [OK] button.

Then “Printer Setup” screen closes and returns


to “System Configuration” screen.

10 Click [OK] button.

Then “Maintenance” dialog box is displayed.

11 Click [OK] button.

Then “Maintenance” dialogue box closes, subsequently “System Configuration” screen closes, and
then returns to “Maintenance Application” screen.

12 Click [Close] button.

Then “Maintenance Application” screen closes.

13 Restart the system.

14 Repeat step 2-13 until all the registered DE100 printers are added.

When you need to add Phaser6270 or DX100 printers to the ICIII, MSP80 Patch should be installed to the
ICIII after MSP64 and MSP48 were installed. Please refer “4.7 Install MSP80 Patch (After MSP64 or MSP48
installed)”.

After completing above steps, the “Machine ID” in the DE100 Soft Print Settings and DE100 Printer Function
Setting and the name of the printer icon corresponds to following table.

4.6 Install Loopback Adapter

4.6.1 Install Loopback Adapter

Important: If the MS01 system is not connected to the network, perform following steps.

1 From the Start menu on the Windows Task Bar,


select “Control Panel” and then select “Device
Manager”.

In the “Device Manager” dialogue, right-click


the computer name and select “Add legacy
hardware”.

Then “Add Hardware Wizard” opens.

2 Click [Next] button.

Then “Please wait while the wizard


searches…” message screen is displayed.

After the searching process completes, “Is the


hardware connected?” message screen is
displayed.

3 Select “Yes, I have already connected the hardware”.

4 Click [Next] button.

Then the list of hardware currently installed on


the computer is displayed.

5 Select “Add a new hardware device” from “Installed hardware” List Box.

6 Click [Next] button.

“The wizard can help you install other


hardware” screen is displayed.

7 Select “Install the hardware that I manually select from a list”.

8 Click [Next] button.

Then “From the list below, select the type of


hardware you are installing” is displayed.

9 Select “Network Adapter” from “Common hardware type” List Box.

10 Click [Next] button.

Then “Select Network Adapter” screen is


displayed.

11 Select “Microsoft Loopback Adapter” from “Network Adapter” List Box.

12 Click [Next] button.

Then “The wizard is ready to install your


hardware” screen is displayed.

13 Click [Next] button.

After files are copied, “Completing the Add


Hardware Wizard” screen is displayed.

14 Click [Finish] button.

Then Loopback Adapter has been installed.

4.6.2 Disable the Default Network Devices

1 From the Start menu of the Windows Task Bar,


select “Control Panel” and then “Network
Connections”.

Then “Network Connections” screen opens.

2 Right-click the default network device (this


cannot be “Microsoft Loopback Adapter”).

3 Select “Disable” from the context menu.

4 Proceed to the next step.

4.6.3 Set the IP Address of the installed Loopback Adapter

1 On “Network Connections” screen, right-click


the device with the device name “Microsoft
Loopback Adapter” (This was installed in
section 4.5 of this guide.)

2 Select “Properties” from the context menu.

Then “Local Area Connection 2 Properties”


screen is displayed.

3 Select “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” from “This connection uses the following items” List box.

4 Click [Properties] button.

Then “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties”


screen is displayed.

5 Select “Use the following IP address”.

6 Set the IP Address to meet your network environment. Its value is different from that of the default
network device. (The default network device was nullified in Section 4.5.2 of this guide.)

7 Select “Use the following DNS server address”.

8 Set the DNS Server Address to meet your network environment. Its value is different from that of the
default network device. (The default network device was nullified in Section 4.5.2 of this guide.)

9 Click [OK] button.

Then “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties”


screen closes and returns to “Local Area
Connection2 Properties” screen.

10 Click [OK] button.

Then “Local Area Connection 2 Properties” screen closes.

After completing above steps, go back to 3.1 (3) or 3.2 (3) depending on your configuration in Chapter 3 in
this guide.

4.7 Add New Paper Sizes and Surfaces

1 Click “Panda for DE100 printer” icon to open


“Panda for DE100 printer” screen.

2 Click [4 - Maintenance] button.

3 The Password Entry dialogue box opens.


Enter the password 7777.

4 Click Production Info


The Maintenance Menu Selection dialogue box
opens.

5 Select “[490] Frontier Direct Device Setup”
Press and hold the <Ctrl> keyboard key, and
click the [OK] button.

6 The Printer Setup dialog box opens.

7 When you make a paper size available, select


the desired Paper Size / Surface Type entry in
the Paper Sizes list box and select the
“Available” check box, or doubleclick the
selected Paper Size.

8 When you add new paper, click “Add” button in
the Printer Setup dialogue and select the
desired Paper Size / Surface Type entry in the
Custom Paper dialogue.

Click [OK].
The new paper size is added to the Paper
Sizes list box.

9 Click [OK].
The Maintenance Menu Selection screen
returns to focus.

10 Click [Cancel].
The Maintenance Menu Selection screen
closes.

4.8 Install MSP80 Patch (After MSP64 or MSP48 installed)

When you need to add Phaser6270 or DX100 printers to the ICIII, following steps should be proceeded.

1 Insert the MSP80 installation DVD into the ICIII DVD-ROM drive.

2 Startup Windows Explorer and execute following


file.

N:¥MSP80_Patch¥Setup.exe (DVD drive letter


is "N")

Select “MSP80 Patch” and push [Install] button.


After install MSP80 patch, push [Close] button
to close the dialogue.

Note) When a message is displayed on the


right after pushing [Close] button on the
installation screen, push [Close] button to close
the message.
Installation of MSP80 patch has completed
successfully.

3 Remove the installation DVD from the DVD-ROM drive and system restarts.
