Sample Lesson Plan in Literature
Guidelines:
Just copy the program and content standards stated in DepEd Curriculum Guide(CG) in every grade
level.
Codes are also taken from the CG according to the chosen topic
A. Cognitive (Knowledge)
B. Affective (Values-related)
C. Psychomotor (Performance Activity)
Topic- should be according to the learning capacity of your students so follow the CG. Make sure you can
achieve the topic. Make sure the coverage of your topic is not too…easy/ difficult to your students.
Activity- it is not recorded it is preparatory drill to master the topic
Evaluation- is an assessment if your students learned or no so it should be recorded. The results will be
your basis if you are going to reteach your lesson the next day or proceed to next topic. If your topic is
grammar the assessment should be in written form to assess individual skill.

The learner demonstrates understanding of how Anglo-American literature and other text
types serve as means of enhancing the self; also how to use processing, assessing,
summarizing information, word derivation and formation strategies, appropriate word order,
punctuation marks and interjections to enable him/her to participate actively in a speech choir.
I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of a 60-minute class, 75% of the students are expected to:
A. Identify literary theme and moral;
B. Share the importance of theme and moral;
C. Present role plays that emphasize the value of theme and moral.

B. Motivation
The class will arrange jumbled letters and form the term, “Literature” and
“Characterization”.
D. Lesson Proper
If you are the author of the story, how would you end it?
Discuss the theme and morale of the story. How relevant is the story today?
6. Activity
Watch a short clip of a movie and discuss its moral and theme.
E. Generalization
Literary theme and moral play a great influence in the values integration of the readers.
Through reading this, readers will realize the central idea of the story and its relevance to
the students.
IV. EVALUATION:
Direction: The class will be divided into two different groups. Each group will be assigned to
present a role play based on a given literature. Each group will focus its presentation on the
literary theme and moral.
