Course Description
A basic engineering science course of solid mechanics dealing with bodies that are or remain at rest.
It is designed to provide fundamental concepts about forces, moments and couples and their
systems. The concept of resultants and equilibrium of forces and moments is utilized to enable
solution of statically determinate problems.
Course Learning Outcomes (CLO)
CO1. Identify and apply the different basic principles and concepts of engineering mechanics in their
advance courses of chosen programs
CO2. Analyze different system of forces and solve it with different approaches according to the
knowledge obtained in the course
CO3. Differentiate different structural members and understand some characteristics by relating it
with actual scenario
CO4. Connect the earned knowledge in mathematics and physics in solving for some related
problems in the course
