GENERAL RULES

The residential school plays a very important role in the formation of a child's habits, ideals,
attitudes and perceptions and in moulding them to face the challenges of life.

So, all students should strictly follow the prescribed school rules from the beginning of their
journey to school until the end of their journey back home.

1. Rules and regulations while honestly followed provide the right direction in self-discipline of a
child.

2. Rules are made for students to realize that in following them they learn to respect the freedom
of others.

3. Students must maintain a high standard of manners.

4. Teachers along with the captains and vice-captains 9Class/Houses/Dorms) are responsible for
the discipline of the school and for the enforcement of all rules.

5. The School Disciplinary Committee will meet to decide the course of punishment in case of a
serious breach of disciplinary matters. The authority of the Principal is final.

6. The School reserves the right to expel students whose progress in studies is consistently
unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students.

7. Immoral activities, bullying others, grave insubordination, stealing or extortion of things from
other students, use of foul language, contempt of authority, vandalism, breaking bounds,
damaging school property, misbehaving teaches or any staff members are some reasons for
immediate expulsion or rustication.
BOUNDS

The following areas are out of bounds (i.e. students are not allowed to go without permission):

1. Domestic staff quarters, school office, and staff room.


2. Doctor's Chamber or Infirmary except the sick students.
3. The Swimming pool and the playground except during games time and other specified
times.
4. Classrooms and dormitories other than the students own dormitory and classroom.
5. Dining hall, except at meal times, and kitchen at all times.
6. Art & Craft Room, Hobby Rooms, Music Room, Library, and Computer Lab after class
hours or after the particular activity hour, except with special permission.
7. Outside the School Campus.
8. Students visiting staff-residences require permission of the Vice Principal/Housemasters.

MORNING ASSEMBLY

1. Morning Assembly is compulsory for all the students.


2. Keeping the solemnity of the occasion, proper decorum must be maintained.
3. The four houses will conduct the Assembly week wise, for which points will be allotted
based on the performance.

GAMES / P.T.

1. Games and P.T. are compulsory for all students except those on restriction list prescribed
by the Medical Dept.
2. All students must be punctual and properly dressed for Games and P.T.
3. No one is allowed to leave the playground before finishing the games. If any serious need
occurs, he/she should take permission from the P.T. Instructor.
4. Students on restriction should not play games without the specific permission of the Doctor.
5. In case of any wound / injury caused during playing must be at once shown to the Nurse.

DINING HALL

1. Everyone must be on time for all the meals. In exceptional cases, permission note has to be
given by the Principal.
2. The entry in the dining hall should be done briskly and quietly.
3. Everyone should take their own fixed seats and stand patiently for the 'PRAYER' before
every meal. No student should change places without permission.
4. Decency and decorum must be maintained in the dining hall.
5. Students must strictly follow the table manners and etiquettes.
6. Students must not waste food.
7. Students should not talk loudly or shout across the dining hall.
8. If any guest comes to have a meal, all students should show due respect to his/her
presence at the table.
9. Students are not permitted to bring any sort of tuck into the dining hall.
10. Dustbins are meant to be used and students should not litter the area. Cleanliness must be
maintained.
11. If any student leaves the dining hall early he/she should inform the others on the table.
LIBRARY

1. Complete silence must be maintained in the library and the reading room.
2. The library is open to all the members of the school from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Mon - Sat)
and from 9:00 a.m. to 100 p.m. on Sundays.
3. Books borrowed from the library must be returned in good state within 7 days.
4. Books from the reference section must not be borrowed by any student. Students are not
allowed to borrow any books from the Reference section.
5. All the books must be handle with care

DORMITORIES

1. All students in the hostel are under the overall charge of the Dorm - Incharges.
2. No student will enter other dormitories without seeking permission of the respective Dorm-
In-charges.
3. Dormitories should be reasonably quiet at all times.
4. All the students must be out of bed immediately after the rising bell.
5. Students must be washed themselves properly, neatly dressed and beds should be tidy
before breakfast.
6. Clothes and other belongings must be put away tidily in the respective cupboards before
students leave the dorm.
7. Borrowing of clothes and shoes is forbidden.
8. Cupboards must be tidy at all times and must not contain any item of food.
9. Each item of clothing and every belonging should have the name of the student marked.
10. Cleanliness should be strictly maintained in all the dormitories.
11. There must be no talking after lights out.
12. No visitor (including a parent) is allowed to provide tuck, money, etc. to any student.
13. Children must not misbehave with the ayahs, who work for them.
14. All the activities and movements of the students in any and every field will be with the
permission and overall guidance of the Headmaster/Headmistress.

DRESS

1. Students should always be dressed neatly in the prescribed School Uniform, Games and
Hostel Dress whenever applicable.
2. Informal dress is permitted only on Sundays/Birthdays/Excursion/Outings etc.
3. Clothes and shoes that are not suitable or indecent will be confiscated and sent home.
4. Only those clothes and shoes specified in the school clothing list may be kept in the
dormitories.
5. Track suit must be worn during morning P.T.
6. Games dress must be worn from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. on all days, except Sunday (4 p.m. - 5
p.m.)
7. Students must wear hostel dress every evening.
8. All boys must have short and decent hair cut. Keeping spiky and long hair is strictly
forbidden. Girls must tie their hair in a proper way with red ribbons and black clips.
Note: Jewellery, Make-up sets, Hair Gels, Hair Cream etc. are strictly forbidden.

POCKET MONEY
1. Students are not permitted to keep any cash with them
2. Pocket money may be deposited in the Accounts Department in advance.
3. Visitors are requested not to give money to the students.
4. Parents are particularly requested to refrain from giving money to children when visiting
them or from sending it to by other means.
5. All money intended for children should be paid/sent to the school.
