Part 2
Part 2
SPORTS
There are many kinds of sports which people like learning these days,
such as baseball, basketball, volleyball, and cricket but I would like to
learn football which is so-called the king of sports.
2. FAMOUS PERSON
I'd like to meet Bill Gates, who is well-known as Microsoft's co-
founder and one of the world's richest people. First, Bill Gates is
obviously an incredibly talented and ambitious man; otherwise, he
wouldn't have started Microsoft and been so successful. In 1975, the
young college dropout Bill Gates started Microsoft in a garage. His
talent, ambition, determination, and dedication led Microsoft to
become one of the largest tech companies.
Furthermore, I really admire his kindness. He is so benevolent and
warm-hearted. For years, he has been a philanthropist, donating his
money to help less fortunate people and investing in developing
education or technology. Also, he always inspires others, through his
talks, to persist in pursuing the goals and achieve immense success.
I wish that I would meet Bill Gate once in my life, as no one can
become a source of motivation to me like him. If I really had the
privilege of meeting him, I would ask him for an autograph or a
picture, and say my thanks for all he has done for the world.
3. FOOD
When it comes to Vietnamese foods, the first food that crosses most
people’s mind is definitely Pho, or Vietnamese rice noodle. In fact,
this dish has long been listed as one of the most delicious foods in the
world and has found its place on the world’s culinary map. So,
naturally, I would like to talk about this most famous dish in my
country. Actually, Pho is not that difficult to cook and it doesn’t take a
professional chef with years of experience to make a perfect bowl of
Pho. The trickiest part of making this food, though, is to find all the
spices and ingredients, which, if you don’t live in Vietnam or a
Vietnamese community, could be an impossible mission and you
would just have to go ahead and do without some of the herbs or
spices. The very first step of cooking Pho is to make the broth by
boiling knuckle bones or leg bones. Then, you can add thin rice
noodles and either chicken or beef to the boiling broth together with
some condiments according to your taste. That’s basically it. Before
you enjoy the pho, just add some slices of chilly and a few lime drops
to increase the tastiness. Pho is best when its served hot with fresh
mint, basil and bean sprouts. I think the reason behind the popularity
of this dish lies in its simplicity yet tastiness. It’s easy to make, easy to
enjoy and hard to forget. If you give this Asian food a try, you’ll most
likely find yourself craving more and more of it.
4. ADMIRE
I'm going to talk about my father because he has been a major
influence in my life.
My father was always a good role model for me as I was growing up.
He's hard-working, patient and understanding; he's also got a
goodsense of humour and seems to get on well with everybody.
Hopefully I've inherited some of these traits.
5. FAMOUS PLACE
Last summer vacation, I visited Vung Tau. It has many beaches in
Viet Nam. It is in the south of Viet Nam. I went it with my family. It
is very beautiful and crowded. We stayed there for 2 days at a small
but convenient hostel. First day, we got up early to see the sunrise on
the beach. It’s the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever seen. Then we swam
and lay down on the sand to enjoy beautiful sunlight and the clear blue
sky. We also enjoyed delicious seafood and drank fresh coconuts.
Next day, it took us about 30 minutes to hike up the Small Mountain
to visit the Lighthouse. The weather during the time we stayed was
really good and the local people were friendly. We took many
photographs to save our memorable vacation and bought a lot of
souvenirs, too. I just had so many good memories of that whole trip.
Everything was great, but what made the trip even greater was the fact
that I was able to bulid a stronger relationships with my family.
6. SPORTING EVENT
One sporting event that I attended was a professional basketball game.
It was a match between two local teams, and it was held in an indoor
arena. I had a chance to go see it with my friends and we both cheered
enthusiastically. The game itself was incredibly exciting. Both teams
played with a lot of energy and passion. The final score was very
close, with the home team winning by only a few points. This event
takes place regularly, usually once a week during the basketball
season, which runs from October to June. I consider this event to be
interesting because I'm a big fan of the sport and it's always exciting to
watch the game live. Additionally, the atmosphere in the arena was
electric, with the cheering fans and the energy of the players on the
court. It was a great opportunity to experience the thrill of live sports
and see some of my favorite players up close. Overall, it was an
unforgettable experience, and I would definitely attend another game
in the future.
7. SHOPPING
Today, I want to talk about a store near my house that I go to often.
Located right across the street, where I live, this isn’t exactly a big
shop, nor does it have any additional staff to help its customers. But,
even though it is a small shop, it is nicely organized and decorated
with essential items. The shop is about 180 square feet and has several
shelves on top of each other all around the store in order to stock the
products.
I like this store because I have a great personal relationship with the
owner of this shop.
9. BOOK
I read many books; some are textbooks and some books I purchased
according to my interest. I learn new things from every book. Today I
am going to discuss a very motivational book. The book’s name is
THE SECRET. Rhonda Byrne wrote it.
Three years ago, I read this book the first time. Actually, I was
founding some books in the library, and I saw this book. I borrowed it
because I thought it is a storybook, but I came to know that it is a
motivational book when I read it. It is a very useful book, so I like to
reread it. I suggested it to other people also to read it.
10. FRIEND
Today, I want to talk about a person who impressed me the most when
I was in primary school.
11. PLACES
I don’t have a lot of memories traveling, since I am a homebody and
prefer to stay put if I can help it. However, a destination really stands
out among the rare occasions that I actually go on trips. It is a local
market in Sapa, which is a small town in the mountainous area of
northern Vietnam. I visited Sapa 2, 3 years ago, I believe, to see the
snow that is, you know, quite few and far between in our tropical
country. During our stay, we stopped by an outdoor market where
locals usually buy an assortment of goods. It was a particularly
intriguing and new experience to me.
The first thing I’d like to mention is that the market was a stark
difference compared to what I was used to seeing in the city. Hordes
of locals were walking around in their traditional attires, which were
incredibly colorful and brightened up the whole atmosphere. Around
you were all sorts of products, like from special clothing items to fresh
ingredients that could not be found elsewhere. But what really
attracted me was the collection of traditional ornaments and
handicrafts there. After walking around a few stalls, I decided to buy a
scarf with distinct tribal patterns and some local souvenirs for my
family, all of which were good bargains.
All in all, I was glad to visit the market since it offered a chance for
me to interact with the very welcoming people in Sapa and immerse
myself in an authentic, local environment. For a city girl born and
raised like me, the market was a definite eye-opening experience.
Besides, I could also support the local communities by buying
souvenirs and gifts. If there’s a chance, I would love to revisit this
place.
12. WATCHING TV
Among many programs and channels available on TV these days such
as the current news programs, sport programs, entertaining programs,
educational programs and movie programs, etc., I like the program
“the World of Animals” most.
For example, people can watch films about monkeys, snakes, tigers,
insects, birds, sea turtles, sharks etc. … and even the penguins and the
polar bears in the far North. While watching these films, I find the
everyday life activities and habits of these animals very interesting
and full mysteries.
13. EATING
My favourite restaurant is in Pham Hung street. The restaurant is on a
busy street very near to a large park. It is quite a small and hectic
place called Nguyen Lan because Nguyen Lan is the name of the
person who set up the business.
The outside the restaurant doesn’t look very impressive. It has large
glass windows at the front, and some benches outside for people to sit
on if they are waiting to go in. Inside there are lots of square wooden
tables, each with about four chairs around them.
The restaurant serves mainly breakfast and lunch meals. It does really
good coffee – I like their latte’s best – and lots of sandwiches, salads
and special soups.
14. HABIT
Certainly, we are easily influenced by others’ good habits and want to
develop the same one, but this is not always simple. Today, I’m going
to describe a good habit of my best friend who works out on a daily
basis. She is one of my childhood friends, whom I want to take up
such a habit from. I have known her ever since we were in
kindergartens and we kept being good friends since then.
I noticed this habit of hers when she basically told me she could spend
around 2 hours or more getting involved in intensive workouts, which
was incredible to me at the time. I asked her how she did it and she
explained that by setting a specific target of doing either a short or
long workout a day before having dinner, I can reap some fruitful
results in the end.
To be honest, she has completely changed my mind regarding the
importance of working out everyday. I once thought that I would cut
corners, as shown in a way how I forced myself to work out for more
than 2 hours each day and even skip meals afterwards. However, my
friend said that I was not doing it the right way and if I had kept doing
this, my health would have been detrimentally affected.
So that’s all I would like to say about the habit that I want to take up
from a friend of mine. I am so grateful to her for her inspiration and I
would recommend such a habit to everyone, as taking care of our
health is of great importance.
15. FAMILY
Family plays an integral role in any person in life. Without the family,
life would be unpredictable, so there are lots of aspects which people
like their family members are to maintain their bonding with them.
And here I would like to talk about my family member who I like to
spend my quality time with them, and he is my father he is early 50
and looks tall and handsome. I am fortunate that I spend my time with
my father, and he is very close to me. But spending the majority of our
time together on weekends we also do a lot of free recreational
activities and prefer to play outdoor games in a park. However, he
believes that being mentally strong is very important as being fit as a
fiddle. Sometimes we often go for lunch and dinner in various
restaurants so sometimes we explore various kinds of new places
shortly open in my hometown. Moreover, I like my father due to his
numerous qualities in him. He’s very punctual and loyal to his work;
he is the inspiration of many youngsters often to organize a small
seminar every weekend in favour of the youngsters who have some
confusion related to their future. Therefore, show my father always
motivates them and addresses how to achieve a goal more efficiently.
This is the reason I love to spend time with him. He has numerous
innovative as well as cognitive ideas, which I found incredible. So
whenever I get worried and tense, I always spend my time with him
and After sometimes, I gain all my confidence, including my mind
power. So he is my family member. I like to spend all the quality time
with him, and I feel very lucky as a being daughter of my father.
