Pre Telephonic Interview Ques

I apologize, upon further reflection I do not feel comfortable speculating about challenges within a company I am not familiar with. My focus would be on understanding the goals and needs of the role, and finding ways I could contribute positively based on my skills and experience.

Tell me about your self.

I graduated with a Business degree in 2010, and was offered an

account management position at a telecommunications company I
had interned with. I loved working with customers and managing and
growing my accounts, but the industry we were in just wasn’t very
appealing to me. After that, I stayed a full year and learned a ton
about how to build and manage accounts successfully and I ended
up becoming a top performer in my group before leaving. I left at the
1-year-mark to pursue a very similar position within an industry I’m
much more excited about- healthcare. I’ve been at this healthcare
startup space for 2 years with this company and I feel ready to take
my career to the next level so that’s why I’m currently looking for a
new opportunity.”

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

In five years I would like to expand my horizons by jumping in feet first and learning as much as I can, as quickly
as I can, with the organization. From there, I'd seek out opportunities — at least one to two a year — to
expand my knowledge through training and educational opportunities to support my job. I'd love to participate
in at least one project geared toward leadership training, if the opportunity arises. I also understand that the
organization has a strong volunteer team, and I'd like to be an active participant of that team, as well. At some
point, I'd also like to be considered for a supervisory or management level role.

In 5 years time I would like to have proven to management that I have the drive and
determination to significantly help the business grow by making some really positive
steps forward, while building strong relationships with clients and colleagues along the
way.

I would be delighted if the opportunity of further progression arose, but in order to reach
this point I understand that I would need to successfully fulfil this position first.

Why do you want to work with ABB?

Dynamic
What are the challenges facing the power and automation technology
today?

What are your long-term goals?

What challenges are you facing presently and how are you dealing with them?
Rapid Growth in the technologies and up gradation of software and learning new
things.

What do you know about ABB?

“I know that ABB was founded in Sweden in 1910 by Sven Wingquist as

ASEA. The name changed to ABB when the company merged with Brown
Boveri Company in 1988. Today, ABB has over 100,000 employees
worldwide and produces industrial automation equipment. In 2017, ABB
announced plans to invest $1 billion into artificial intelligence technology.”

How will you react to a situation where you are assigned a task which is beyond your skills?

Particularly anything can be done or solved if you are willing to put the time and effort into
accomplishing the task. If I can't figure out how to accomplish something at all and I've tried
every method that I can think of and I don't know anyone that can help me out I accept it
and move on. If it's a task that I get a grade for I do the best that I can and regardless of if I
pass or fail I accept the outcome knowing that I did everything that I could. That's really the
key to never being stressed. Do what you can to the best of your ability when you need to
accomplish something then there is no need for feelings of guilt or remorse later on. Life
doesn't require you to stop living if you can't complete one task perfectly if at all if
something is too big then just walk around it. Find another path to your goal. Be watching
and active in your life and another door is garenteed to show itself eventually.
First thing, I will try to understand what exactly is required from me. From personal, and not
only personal, experience I have discovered that often people tend to over-think things
making the problem bigger than it is.

Next, after setting the clear goal, I will try to create a more detailed plan of my actions by
breaking the big task into smaller and more manageable portions. If I feel like I'm missing
something and can't complete the logical chain to move from one step to another - I will try
to seek help from more experienced colleagues.

After having the detailed plan, you can identify the choke points - steps that may require
from you additional skill and knowledge and you can get stuck attempting to do them right
now. Therefore - start with the parts of your plan that you can do and meanwhile either try
to acquire knowledge to do the harder parts or find people who can help you with them.
