Oral Communication Speech Final 2
•INTRODUCTION
do you believe if you're not good at something does that mean you're not good at everything?
Well greetings my dear teacher ma'am arnoco and my fellow classmates before we dive in to my speech
let me start by saying a few words. When I was scrolling in TikTok I saw this video and It talked about
multiple intelligences theory and he is karl sison one of the inspiring student.
When im listening to his speech he says that "Multiple Intelligences tells us at a person excels in his/her
own ways".
Like I was impressed by this speech so should I choose this? And yes I choose this speech my topic is one
of the best educational theories and this is the theory of Howard Gardner THE MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES
THEORY.
•BODY
Way back on 1980s when Gardner first introduced this groundbreaking concept. Multiple intelligences is
a theory first posited by Harvard developmental psychologist Howard Gardner in 1983. This theory
suggests human intelligence can be differentiated into the following modalities: visual-spatial, verbal-
linguistic, musical-rhythmic, logical-mathematical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalistic and bodily-
kinesthetic. the idea behind the theory of multiple intelligences is that people learn in a variety of
different ways.
Gardner initially identified seven intelligences and later expanded his theory to include nine:
1. Linguistic Intelligence - This intelligence involves a facility with words, an innate talent for language.
Those with linguistic intelligence excel in reading, writing, and verbal communication.
2. Logical-Mathematical Intelligence - Individuals with this intelligence are analytical, logical thinkers
who excel in mathematical reasoning and problem-solving.
3. Spatial Intelligence - Spatially intelligent individuals have a heightened ability to visualize and
manipulate objects in three-dimensional space. They often excel in arts, design, and navigation.
4. Musical Intelligence - Musical intelligence relates to sensitivity to rhythm, melody, and pitch. Those
with this intelligence can create, appreciate, and understand music on a deep level.
5. Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence - This intelligence involves physical dexterity and coordination. People
with bodily-kinesthetic intelligence excel in activities that require bodily movements, such as sports,
dance, or crafts.
6. Interpersonal Intelligence - Those with interpersonal intelligence are adept at understanding the
feelings, motivations, and intentions of others. They thrive in social situations, exhibiting empathy and
strong communication skills.
8. Naturalistic Intelligence - Naturalists have a profound connection with the natural world. They can
identify patterns in nature, exhibit a keen appreciation for ecosystems, and often feel at home in the
wilderness.
9. Existential Intelligence - Gardner later added existential intelligence, which relates to the capacity to
contemplate profound questions about existence, meaning, and the human condition.
•IN CONCLUSION
THE MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES THEORY reminds us that each of us possesses a unique blend of
intelligences, waiting to be discovered and nurtured.
If You're not good at something it doesn't mean you're not good at everything!
always remember that all of us have their own talents, We just need to shine in our own unique way.
If your not good at music maybe your great at sport? Or you are intelligent in naturalist of being able to
recognize and classify the various plant and environmental species in one's surroundings.
We just need to understand this theory and unleashed the diverse potential within each of us. Thank you
