I. Afternoon rites
Renzell: Good afternoon, students. To start our homeroom period, let us begin
with our afternoon rites. May I call Sir Alleoh to lead us in the opening prayer.

Opening prayer
Alleoh: “Cor unum et anima una”

Heavenly Father,
We praise you, and we glorify you. We thank you for allowing us to come
together as a class and start another day to learn. Before the activities
start, may we ask for your guidance and wisdom to motivate us to learn
and do the activities today. In light of the pandemic's current situation, we
ask you to keep everyone safe, especially our friends and families. This we
ask in the name of your son, Jesus Christ.
Amen.

In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen

II. Self Introduction
Renzell: Good afternoon again 9-St. Agatha and good afternoon, Ma’am
Queen. Welcome again to our homeroom period. We are excited and happy to
be back here.
Alleoh: I hope that, like last time, you’ll be able to enjoy and learn a lot from our
homeroom period. So Before we start, let me briefly remind you again of our
classroom rules. First, keep your microphones on mute. Second, turn on your
cameras during the entire period. Third, always listen to the facilitators. Fourth,
respect each other. And lastly, participate and have fun! Also, we will emphasize
again that our homeroom is a period of safe space. If you want to say something
or share something about your day or the topic of facilitation, please do not
hesitate. We will assure you that whatever you will say or share here will only
remain during the homeroom period. Sometimes, to get through to a very tiring
day, sharing your thoughts or your experiences with someone can help. Now to
start, here is Mam Renzell to present the objectives for today’s facilitation

III. Objectives
Renzell: At the end of the homeroom activity, students are expected to:
● be aware of their interests or career path that they prefer to be in.
● know and identify why they are interested in their chosen career path.
Thus, they reflect their values, abilities, and the opportunities for
developing those interests and other factors.
● value their skills and interests to help themselves in their future profession.
● envision how they will fit themselves into the world.
● focus on their goals to be achieved in their chosen career in the future.
● gain more confidence in choosing the career path they would want to
pursue in the future.
● decide better in choosing their career path in the future.
IV. Icebreaker
Alleoh: Students, before we proceed to our activity proper, we will have an
icebreaker. Are you familiar with the game four pics one word? I’m sure most of
you know this game, but for those who are not familiar with it, the instructions are
very simple. I will display four pictures linked by one word. All you have to do is
guess what the word is from a set of letters below the pictures. You will type your
answers in the chatbox. To make it more fun, we will make it a game. The first
student to guess correctly will be given a point. However, you have to wait for my
go signal before you can start chatting your answers in the chatbox. At the end of
the icebreaker, whoever has the most points will win. The winner will have the
power to choose one person who will be called for the processing questions later
on. Are we clear with the instructions? If it’s clear kindly please inform me by
clicking the raise hand button.

Okay, first picture. Wait for my go signal. 123 go

Key Answers:
1. Engineering 5. Sports
2. Psychology 6. Politics
3. Animator 7. Accounting
4. Travel
Renzell: So the winner is/are________. Congratulations on winning our icebreaker. As
we've promised earlier, you will have the power to choose one of your classmates to
answer the processing questions later on. So make sure to stay here in our homeroom
facilitation.

V. Introduction
Renzell: Thank you for participating in our icebreaker. Now, anyone who
would like to guess what is common to the words given in the icebreaker? Those
words refer to some of our interests and possible career paths that we may want
to consider in the future. A career is an occupation undertaken for a significant
period of a person's life and opportunities for progress. They say that if you love
what you do, you never have to work a day in your life. Having a career is one of
the most critical aspects of our life. It gives us a background and meaning of
what we are as a person.

Alleoh: Like in the icebreaker, you may still be in the process of guessing or
knowing your interests or career paths. But, as you approach the final years of
your high school days, there will come a time when you will have to decide what
course you would take in college and what career path you will have to pursue in
the future. Others may consider a field in Science or Math, some in Technology
or Arts, and some may want to choose a career geared more towards social or
enterprising. Whatever career you choose, the important thing is that you will feel
happy about it. Identifying a career or a profession that is suitable for you takes
effort. If you already know what you want to be in the future, that is good to hear,
and if you haven’t figured it out yet, it’s alright. You may get confused because
there are a lot of amazing professions in this world. After this homeroom period,
may you be able to determine your chosen career and be aware of your interests
that can be beneficial to your chosen career in the future.

VI. Activity Proper

Note: Every procedure, a format will be flashed on the screen for the students to
follow.
Step 1: The facilitator will instruct the students to prepare the needed materials.
Ma’am Renzell: “Students, may you please bring out the printed template that I
ask you to prepare? If you don’t have one, it’s fine. You may get a bond paper. I
will give you 30 seconds to prepare the materials.

Step 2: The facilitator will say the first instruction of the activity which is writing
their full name and their dream job.
Ma’am Renzell: On the upper center portion of the bond paper, write your full
name, and below it, write your dream job or the profession you want to be in the
future. For those who haven’t printed the template, do the same in your bond
paper. I will give you 1 minute to do this.

Step 3: The facilitator will say the next instruction which is writing the needed
personal information.
Sir Alleoh: Are you done students? Please click the raise hand button if you are
already done. Below your name and dream profession, write your personal
information such as your age, birthday, address, and your contact number. For
those who haven’t printed the template, write your personal information on the
upper left side of your bond paper below your name and dream profession. Did
you understand the instructions? Please click the raise hand button if you did.
You will be given a minute to accomplish this.

Step 4: The facilitator will say the next instruction which is writing their interests.
Ma’am Renzell: Write your interests on the part of your resume labeled as
interests. These interests could be your hobbies, a particular subject or topic, or
anything, in particular, you naturally enjoy doing—for example, traveling, sports,
Science, Arts, and so forth. You can list down as many as you can. For those
who haven’t printed the template, write your interests on the upper right side of
the bond paper in line with your personal information. I will be giving you two
minutes to accomplish.

Step 5: The facilitator will say the next instruction which is writing their skills.
Sir Alleoh: Are you done students? Please click the raise hand button if you are
already done. After you accomplish your interests, write your skills on the skills
part of the resume. For example, you are good at social skills, good at Math,
good at making arguments, good at basketball, and so on. You can list down as
many as you can. For those who don’t have the template, write your skills on the
lower left side of your bond paper below the personal information that you had
written earlier. Did you understand the instructions? Please click the raise hand
button if you did. You have two minutes to write your skills.

Step 6: The facilitator will say the last instruction which is writing their goal/s
related to their career choice.
Ma’am Renzell: Lastly, write your goal/s that you want to achieve in your life
related to your career choice. For example, I want to own a five-star hotel in the
future. For those who didn’t print the template, write your goal/s on the lower right
side of your resume below the interests. You have a minute to accomplish this.

Renzell: So, that’s it for our activity proper. I hope that you were able to reflect
well on your dreams, interests, skills, and goals. For the next part of the
facilitation, we will now proceed to the processing question. Like we’ve said
earlier, the winner of the icebreaker will have the power to call one person in the
processing question. Now may I call (Name of the winner) to call someone who
will answer the first question.

VII. Processing
Alleoh: Why do you think you are interested in the profession you had written in
your resume?
Skills & strengths: Thank you for that answer_____. Indeed there are many
factors that influence our decisions in choosing a particular profession. One of
this is basing our strengths and skills to the actual work of that particular
profession. Of course, if we base our strengths and skills to what the task and
duties of that profession, we will feel more confident in succeeding at that
particular career. Hindi yung trabaho yung mag aadjust sa skill set natin no.
There are also students who are interested in their profession because of their
parent’s decision or the amount of possible monetary rewards that you can get
that made you interested in that particular profession. Whatever the reason, the
important thing is that you will feel happy and fulfilled about it. Because once you
choose a career path that you like, you will rarely feel dreadful whenever you will
work. You will embrace every challenge and opportunity that may come your way
because you enjoy that job. Having a career you like also gives you extra
motivation to work and meet your goals.

one predictor of job satisfaction is that, we find our jobs meaningful and fulfilling.

Dream since bata pa: Thank you for that answer_____. Indeed there are many
factors that influence our decisions in choosing a particular profession. One of
this is that, since childhood, we already like that job. I know that it’s not easy to
decide what career path to pursue because this is a lifetime decision. But for
some, they figured it out early. I think that’s good no, because once we are
already decided to the career that we will have to choose, you know what areas
you should focus on and what areas you will improve on. Whatever the reason,

factors that influence our decisions in choosing a particular profession. It could
be because of your interest because it is closely related to that specific

Renzell: Based on your skills and interests, do you feel confident that you can
succeed in the career you listed in your resume? Why or why not?

Alleoh: Do you think that identifying your interests and strengths will help you
decide what career you will pursue in the future? Why or why not?

Alleoh: Yup indeed no. Identifying our interests and strengths are one of the
most important factor in choosing a particular profession. When a career is
aligned with one's interest, there is a chance that you'll have more motivation
and commitment to do that job because you're more willing to expand your
knowledge and skills. Our interests and goals can still change, but being aware
of your interests and goals now can help you navigate the changes in the future.
Often, our interests also align closely with our strengths. Choosing a career that
utilizes your best skills will lead to lesser frustrations because there are times
that we may feel that we weren't able to give our best. What you're required to do
in a job is not always what you're best at, even if you eventually succeed. Often,
people know what they're good at but never utilize the opportunity to apply those
skills. By reflecting on your strengths and analyzing how you can use them in
your day-to-day life, you can make career choices that enable you to succeed
and continue cultivating those strengths. Thank you for that answer_______

Renzell: How will you achieve the personal goals you had listed in your resume?

Alleoh: In the future, how will you decide better in choosing a career path?

Yup. Thank you for that answer_______. Tama no. Before you can choose the
right career, you must learn about yourself. Your values, interests, skills, and
aptitudes, in combination with your personality type. Self-reflection, indeed will
help you decide which career path best fits you. A deepened sense of self-
awareness can help you clarify your goals and more effectively navigate what
you want. Being aware of what you truly will help guide you towards a more
fulfilling job or career path. Furthermore, being self-aware will allow you to look at
yourself objectively. Examining your strengths, interest and goals will allow you
to make better decisions when deciding what career path to choose.
Renzell: Thank you for your insights and participation. Now, I would also like to
give insights regarding what we have learned today.

VIII. General Insight (If my time pa)

Pili ka na lang ng sasabihin mo dito Renzell hehe
“Students, at your age, one of the things that you may probably contemplate is the
career path that you have to choose in the future. In only two years, you will now
choose what academic track you will go to in Senior High, and in a few more years, you
will now choose what course you will have to take in college. I know that it’s not easy to
decide what career path to pursue because this is a lifetime decision. Many students in
college and professionals become frustrated once they are in their field of work
because they don’t feel fulfilled about their jobs. As a result, they try to shift from course
to course or from one job to another to find where they would fit in. This is why careful
planning on what career to pursue in the future is very important. Whatever career path
you choose to follow will impact your life greatly.
There are many factors in choosing a career path. It could be because of your
parent’s decision, your passions, and interests, your skills, or it could also be because
you want a high-paying job. Whatever the reason, the important thing is that you will
feel happy and fulfilled about it. Because once you choose a career path that you like,
you will rarely feel dreadful whenever you will work. You will embrace every challenge
and opportunity that may come your way because you enjoy that job. Having a career
you like also gives you extra motivation to work and meet your goals.
Before knowing why you are interested in a specific career, know yourself first.
These may include the assessment of your personality, for example, those personalities
may be quiet, loyal, outgoing, or confident, the skills you possess, such as problem-
solving skills and communication skills, and your fundamental values such as helping
others or independence. You may also be interested in a specific profession because
your interests are related to that profession. For example, it’s your hobby to read and
write stories. That’s why you want to enter the media and become a journalist in the
future. Identifying our career interests is not easy and we should take note of our
interests. Depending on your personality, you may have interests that lend themselves
to different careers. Examine your hobbies and interests to identify activities you enjoy.
Matching your interests and strengths to career preferences will likely help you
make better decisions in choosing a career path. When a career is aligned with one's
interest, there is a chance that you'll have more motivation and commitment to do that
job because you're more willing to expand your knowledge and skills. Our interests and
goals can still change, but being aware of your interests and goals now can help you
navigate the changes in the future.
Often, our interests also align closely with our strengths. Choosing a career that
utilizes your best skills will lead to lesser frustrations because there are times that we
may feel that we weren't able to give our best. What you're required to do in a job is not
always what you're best at, even if you eventually succeed. Often, people know what
they're good at but never utilize the opportunity to apply those skills. By reflecting on
your strengths and analyzing how you can use them in your day-to-day life, you can
make career choices that enable you to succeed and continue cultivating those
strengths.
After determining your skills and interests, you may now set goals or
expectations that you want yourself to achieve. Imagine yourself ten years from now;
what achievements you may want to attain in the future? Decide on what are the goals
you wish to accomplish for yourself. Taking time to think about the future can help you
identify a profession or career that will be a long-term fit. If you have already set goals
for yourself, you can research what you can do to reach those goals, or you may ask
older people in the same profession to have a basis and inspiration.
Choosing the right career based on our interests, values, and skills leads to
satisfaction and growth. If you don’t know what career to pursue yet or think that your
chosen career path doesn’t align with your interests and strengths, it’s okay. You still
have a few more years to figure it out and re-evaluate yourselves. I know that at your
age, things are still unclear, and you’re still in the process of figuring out what you really
want. It’s a very confusing stage in life, and it’s okay if you don’t have concrete plans
yet; it’s part of the process; though, learning your interests and strengths will help you
plan for your goals, priorities, and career paths in the future.”

Renzell: To end our facilitation, may I call Sir Alleoh for the integration
IX. Integration

Alleoh: To integrate all the learnings, the facilitator will ask the students to make
a letter for themselves ten (10) years from now.
Sir Alleoh: To integrate all we have learned from this facilitation, I will give you a
simple task that you have to accomplish and submit until next week. This is what
you are going to do. In a short bond paper, I would like you to make a letter for
yourself ten (10) years from now. The letter will specifically contain the following:
• The dreams that you want your future self to achieve.
• The things that you want your future self to know more about.
• The place where you want your future self would be.
Alleoh: Encode your outputs with the format of 12 as font size and Arial as font
style. Limit your letter to 1-2 pages. You can send your answers to my email:
[email protected]
Alleoh: Don’t worry no, I will also post this in our google classroom later on so
that you can see the format.
Alleoh: Thank you for listening and participating in this activity. We hope that you
learned a lot from us and may you be able to apply what you had learned today.
For our closing prayer, Mam Renzell will lead the prayer.
X. Closing Prayer
Renzell: Cor unum et anima una

Almighty Father, we thank you for allowing us to gather today and guide us as we
part our ways today. Help the students remember all the learnings imparted to
them today. I pray for peace in each of their homes and keep them safe from
harm. Continue to bless these students with your wisdom and love throughout
their days.

We thank you for the blessings given upon us during these days together in
Jesus’ name,

Amen.
