SYNOPSIS
RATIONALE FOR THE STUDY
Being a certified hospitality trainer of Institute of Hotel Management, Chandigarh, I have noticed that the field of tourism and hospitality education is vast in nature. Over the decade, hospitality schools and tourism management institutes have been mushrooming all over the country both in the private and public sectors. Though, there is a huge manpower requirement in the Hospitality sector which is supposed to be supplied by many of these institutes, their quality and capability of imparting effective and systematic training is still far from being satisfactory. As every aspect of Hospitality Education plays a significant role like creating Service standards, formulation of Recruitment policy, providing quality trained staff, etc. for the purpose of effective utilization of Human Resources by the industry and to offer better avenues for elevation, Training and Development in the Tourism management institutes at present is being given topmost attention.
