Pick one (1) skills of a civil engineer and explain why it is important to have this certain skill.
You may search for other skills, do not just limit yourselves with what it presented in the
notes.
When we see definition of Engineers in dictionary, they are the one who modifies, create,
innovate, design, and solve problems. Some of today's youth dream and aspire to become engineers
one day. To become one, there are qualities that must be acquired.
There are many issues that engineers are facing because of the rapid change happening in the
world. With this change, a number of things, including technology are also expanding rapidly. Today,
the fundamental principles of how machinery functions, such as in the transportation industry, are
transforming thanks to so-called artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other advancements.
These new concepts remodel the way engineers do their job. Some clients are very picky, choosing
those engineers with cutting-edge production methods who use advanced techniques. To cope with
the improvements the technology offers, an engineer must have a passion and be willing to learn new
things.
Engineers must be teachable to be able to develop their skills. Searching and grabbing every
opportunity of learning to be able to stay ahead of the trends of the modern world. Not only sticking on
the things that they already know. In order for them to fulfill their responsibilities and be productive in
the time that will come, they must have enough wisdom not only in what they know but also in the new
methods that the world can provide. Attending seminars, workshops, certification courses, and
practical training could help to achieve this. Doing a such a thing, will help to solve future problem that
may arise. According to Albert Einstein, “Once you stop learning, you start dying.” It implies learning
is a continuous process. Being a Civil Engineer is more than of mixing cement.
