Lesson Plan Using 7es

1) The lesson plan teaches grade 2 students about action words (verbs) over 45 minutes. It uses videos, songs, pictures and a story to engage the students and help them recognize common verbs. 2) The students are divided into groups to act out different verbs from pictures. A game is also played to reinforce verb understanding. 3) Formative assessment is done through having students identify verbs in a poem about a week's daily routine. Most students achieved the learning objectives but 5 required additional activities to understand verbs fully.

V. PROCEDURES
a. Elicit
The teacher will call a pupil and recall the topic last meeting which is about
Noun. Teacher will show a flash cards and asked them where is it picture
belong either person, place, ideas, things.

b. Engage
The teacher will show a short video clip will play about the movements.
Then teacher will ask the pupil to join for their sing and dance energizer.
After, that teacher will ask some question about what they saw from video

c. Explore

The teacher will ask the pupil if they have a pet at home and show some
pictures of animals and they will imitate their movement. The teacher will
introduce some of the animals can see in Iloilo like birds and cow.

Frog can jump.


Bird can fly. Cow can walk and run.

d. Explain

The teacher will tell a story with a title “Trip to the Zoo”. Before that, she
will be asking who among them went to the zoo and what have they saw
from that place.
After, the story she will be asking 5 questions.

“Trip to the Zoo”


Arlene walks to the zoo. She sees some crazy things!
The monkey swing in a tree. The lion roars in its cage.
An otter slides down a hill. A fancy parrot sings loudly.
Arlene look and listen all day long until it is time to leave.
At home, Arlene tells her brother all about her fun trip to the zoo.

Questions:
1. What is the title of the story? Answer: The title of the story is Trip to the
Zoo.

2. What did the monkey do? Answer: The monkey swings in a tree
3. How about the lion? Answer: The lion roars in its cage.
4. What did the parrot do? Answer: A fancy parrot sings loudly
5. What does Arlene do all day long? Answer: Arlene looks and listens all
day long until it is time to leave.

The pupils will read the underlined words.

The teacher will show the answers with the underlined words. She will
ask the pupils what these words are. These words are all moving.

The teacher will introduce the topic which is Verb.

Verb- A verb is a word that shows action. It tells us what someone or


something is doing.
Examples: Sleep, Run, Wash, Cook, Jump, Slide, Hide, Walk, Fly, Swim

e. Elaborate

The teacher will group the pupil into 3 groups with 5 members, provided
with the material and properly instructed on what has to be done and with
the following questions given for them to answer.

The pupil will be given a task to know what is in the picture. After, that
the pupil will act it out or perform the action words they have answered.
One of each member come in front to pick a picture they going to do.

This are the pictures of verbs where going to perform.

The students will shares their observation as to know the action words
(verbs) used. Then the teacher will be the one to guide in their answer.

f. Extend

The teacher will play a game “Move it” the teacher will show a
movement that they are doing on their home and the pupils will choose
from A or B the correct action of the teacher. If their answer is letter A the
pupils will sway their hips. If their answer is letter B the pupils will clap their
hands.

The teacher will ask the pupils regarding to their activities to know if they
really understand the lesson.

1. What is a verb? Answer: Verb is an action word.
2. List at least three actions which you can do at home.
Answer:
1. Cleaning house
2. Play with my family
3. Brush my teeth

Every day, we do have a daily routine. You are going to school every day,
so by this time, you should have a daily routine.
Teacher, what is a daily routine? Daily routine is the everyday activities
done by any person. It is something that you do every single day at specific
time. It helps the children to be independent.

g. Evaluate

Recognize the action words (verbs) mentioned in a poem and write your
answers on your paper.

On Monday, she reads book
On Tuesday, she writes stories
On Wednesday, she studies English
On Thursday, she plays with the ball
On Friday, she goes to the park
