Answer – “Citius – Altius – Fortius,” which translates to “Faster – Higher –
Stronger,” is the motto of the Olympic Games. It conveys what the Olympic
Movement hopes to achieve. Pierre de Coubertin made the suggestion when
the International Olympic Committee was established in 1894.
The six colors used in this design are those seen on all current country flags
of the world (1931), and they symbolize the five continents of the world that
are unified through olympism.
