Course RESEARCH PROJECT
Course RESEARCH PROJECT
MQF Credit 10
Course This subject represents the culmination of an independent work guided by the
Description academic staffs of the Faculty of Civil Engineering. The students are required to
conduct experimental work in the laboratory or fieldwork on site. Students must be
able to identify samples, locations and problems encountered in the research project.
Students must indicate their research methodology so that the objectives can be
obtained at the end of the study. All data should be well presented and analysed
using computer programming or statistical tools to solve the problem efficiently. They
should make a comparison between the theoretical values with the
experimental/fieldwork in order to verify that their work is on the right track. Finally,
the students are also trained to deliver their findings in the form of a technical paper
and report writing. To further enhance their capabilities, students are required to give
an oral presentation assessed by panels of examiners.
