Sherlock Holmes Webquest

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was inspired to create Sherlock Holmes based on his former university teacher Joseph Bell, known for his skills of observation and deduction. Doyle went on to write 56 short stories and 4 novels about Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. Some of the most popular stories include A Study in Scarlet, The Hound of the Baskervilles, and The Sign of Four. The Victorian era in which the stories were set saw significant changes in Britain including industrialization, advances in science and technology, and the growth of London.
