Introduction
In terms of tenses, the present continuous tense and Person Perfect are indispensable in the
present tense. Using these two tenses can help us understand the status of the timeline.
The present continuous tense indicates an action that was triggered or occurred when
speaking. It can also indicate an activity that has ended in the current period or an action that
was triggered at the current stage.
2.Indicates that something is being done at e.g Today's aging population is growing
a certain time but not necessarily being
done at the time of speaking.
4.It does not express what is being done, e.g The bus is coming.
but expresses the future.
The composition of the present continuous tense is: subject + be verb (am /is /are) + verb
ing form [present participle]
1.Affirmative sentence: subject + be verb e.g I am doing the dishes right now.
(am /is /are) + verb ing + other
2.Negative sentence: subject + be verb e.g I am not cooking dinner for tonight.
(am /is /are) + not + verb ing + other

Remark:
He/She/It>is
You/Am/Are>are
The present perfect is used to indicate a link between the present and the past . It also lies in
the two concepts of “now” and “completion”. If want to express “something has been
completed until now” , you can use the present perfect tense .

this day three years
2. Action completed not long ago eg. I have just finished my dinner

out.
The composition of the present perfect tense is: subject + has/ have + past participle + the
rest of the sentence
affirmative sentence: Subject +have + past eg. I have painted the walls.
participle + object
Negative sentence: Subject + have + not + eg, Tovy has not finished her homework
past participle + object

past participle + object
1. about the use of time when using the present eg. Tommy has failed the
words perfect tense , be careful not interview in the last five
to add actual time years.
word/phrases
2. Sentence patterns we usually put adverbs such eg. I have only met Kelly
using adverbs as always, usually, sometimes once in the office .
etc . After the auxiliary verb
have / has , and the sentence
pattern is Have/has + adverb
+ past participle
3. Active voice and When describing something eg. I have tried to submit my
