Lesson
Summary:
During this lesson Children will learn what patterns are. We will discuss the various types of patterns
such as AB and ABB and ABC.
Estimated This lesson will take one about 120 minutes to complete. I plan to divide the lesson into 4 days with

Instructional Procedures

Day 1: During the first 2 minutes The children watched Learn About Patterns with Milo the Monster, then we will discuss
what we learned about patterns. https://youtu.be/fo5cjg15_5s?si=jzfKvsoNtYValBY5. For 28 minutes: I will demonstrate
an AB pattern for the children. Using red and blue blocks to do AB patterns I will ask the child which color comes next. I
will have each student complete an AB Pattern.
Day 2: During the first 2 minutes the children will do an exercise with Jack Hartman on YouTube.

make AB patterns. The last 18 Min I introduced the ABB pattern to the children using the colors red, orange and yellow
and asking the children what comes next. We also watched Learn Patterns for Kids on YouTube

Day 3: During the first 10 minutes the children will practice the ABB patterns using shapes and I will ask what shapes
come next. The next 2 minutes we will watch a video on ABC Patterns called Learn Patterns

patterns. The last 9 use tablets to complete ABC patterns on starfall

Day 4: The first 10 Minutes I will ask the children what did we learn in small group this week? I will ask how many
patterns did we learn and what are the patterns? The next 2 minutes we will watch a video call I love to make patterns

Development for children from birth to five.

Differentiated Instructional Support: Describe how instruction can be differentiated (changed or altered) to meet the
needs of gifted or accelerated students: Children can be taught at a higher grade level. As far as Technology goes, there
are apps such as Starfall and ABC mouse that are great with learning.

Discuss additional activities you could do to meet the needs of students who might be struggling with the material:
Learning patterns the lesson can be done several times throughout the year. Children can be given more time to
practice. Use apps such as Starfall and ABC Mouse

Vocabulary: Ab, ABB, ABC, patterns, color, shapes, animals, and comes next.

For teachers Television, internet, YouTube, and tablets. I will use the television for the children to watch videos on
YouTube. I also used the tablets for the children to use the Starfall app to reinforce our learning on
patterns.
For students The materials that the children needed to complete the lesson and learn the material are Television,
internet, YouTube tablet and Starfall app.
