B1. TITLE OF THE ACTIVITY
BED MAKINNG
C1. DESCRIPTION
Bed making is the process of arranging and preparing a bed for use. It involves
several steps to ensure that the bed is clean, comfortable, and visually appealing. Here's a
general description of the bed making process. The first step is to remove the existing
bedding, including sheets, pillowcases, and any other covers. These are usually gathered and
placed in a laundry hamper for cleaning. Before proceeding, it's important to inspect the
mattress for any stains, damage, or wear. If necessary, spot cleaning or repairs can be done at
this stage. The fitted sheet is the first layer that goes directly onto the mattress. It has
elasticized corners that hold it securely in place. The sheet is spread out evenly over the
mattress, ensuring a snug fit. If using a flat sheet or top sheet, it is placed on top of the fitted
sheet. The top edge of the sheet should align with the top edge of the mattress, with equal
overhang on both sides. The sheet is tucked under the mattress at the foot end. A blanket or
duvet can be added on top of the sheet. It should be centered and spread evenly over the bed,
covering the entire surface. If using a duvet, a duvet cover can be placed over it for protection
and added style. Pillows are arranged at the head of the bed. The number of pillows can vary
depending on personal preference and bed size. Standard practice often involves placing two
or more pillows, with decorative pillows added for aesthetic purposes. Pillowcases are
slipped over each pillow, ensuring a smooth and wrinkle-free appearance. The open end of
the pillowcase should face away from the center of the bed. To complete the bed-making
process, any additional decorative elements, such as throws, cushions, or bed skirts, can be
added for a more polished look.
Throughout the process, attention to detail is crucial, including ensuring the sheets are
smooth and free of wrinkles, aligning the edges of the bedding with the edges of the mattress,
and maintaining an overall tidy and appealing presentation. Proper bed making not only
contributes to the visual appeal of a room but also promotes a clean and comfortable sleeping
environment. It is an essential task in maintaining a well-kept and inviting bed for a restful
night's sleep.

Public cleaning is an essential part of maintaining hygiene and providing a clean and
safe environment for the public. It entails thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting a variety of
public locations, including government buildings, libraries, schools, hospitals, parks,
shopping malls, and public bathrooms, among others. The following tasks are usually
included in the procedure. The first step is to clean up any litter, waste, or debris on the
property. Emptying garbage cans, cleaning the floors, and collecting rubbish from specific
places may be included. All surfaces in the facility must be carefully cleaned. Floors, walls,
windows, countertops, tables, chairs, and other fittings are all included. Depending on the
kind of surface and the amount of filth or stains present, several cleaning procedures may be
utilized.
Cleaning the public area may also notice and report any facility maintenance concerns
or repairs, such as broken fixtures, leaking pipes, or malfunctioning equipment. This
contributes to a safe and functional environment for the general population. Cleaning
employees must observe safety requirements and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
such as gloves, masks, or goggles when necessary. To avoid accidents or injuries, they should
also be instructed in the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Overall, cleaning
public facilities is a thorough procedure that attempts to give the public cleaning, sanitary,
and pleasant environment to enjoy. It is critical in promoting health, avoiding disease spread,
and improving the overall experience of those who use these facilities.

C3. DESCRIPTION
Ironing is the process of removing wrinkles and creases from clothes using heat and
pressure. It is typically done with an iron, which is a flat metal appliance that heats up and is
used to press the fabric. Ironing can be done on various types of clothing, such as shirts,
pants, dresses, and skirts, to give them a neat and crisp appearance. To begin ironing, you
need to set up your ironing board in a well-ventilated area. Make sure the board is stable and
secure. Next, fill the iron with water if it has a steam function, or adjust the settings according
to the fabric type if it's a dry iron. Plug in the iron and allow it to heat up to the desired
temperature. Before ironing, ensure that the clothing item is clean and slightly damp. You can
achieve this by washing the garment and then letting it air dry until it is slightly moist but not
soaking wet. This helps the iron glide smoothly over the fabric and improves the
effectiveness of the ironing process. Lay the garment flat on the ironing board, and smooth
out any wrinkles or folds with your hands. Start ironing from the collar or the top of the
garment, moving downward. Apply gentle pressure with the iron while moving it in a back-
and-forth or up-and-down motion, depending on the fabric. Take care not to leave the iron in
one spot for too long to avoid scorching the fabric. Pay attention to specific areas that require
extra attention, such as collars, cuffs, and pockets. For delicate fabrics, use a lower heat
setting and place a cloth between the iron and the fabric to protect it from direct heat. Once
you have finished ironing a clothing item, hang it or fold it immediately to prevent new
wrinkles from forming. Allow the garment to cool down before storing or wearing it. Packing
and unpacking, on the other hand, involve organizing and arranging items in a suitcase or a
bag for travel or storage purposes. When packing, it is helpful to make a checklist of the
items you need to take with you to ensure that nothing is forgotten. Start by laying out all the
items you plan to pack and categorize them by type. To maximize space, consider rolling
your clothes instead of folding them. This technique can help reduce wrinkles and save room
in your suitcase. Place heavier and bulkier items at the bottom, such as shoes or toiletries, and
then layer lighter items on top. Utilize the available space efficiently by filling gaps with
smaller items or accessories. To prevent spills or leaks, place liquids in leak-proof containers
and consider placing them in sealed plastic bags. When unpacking, remove items from your
suitcase one by one and place them in their designated areas. Hang clothes that need to be
hung, and fold and organize the rest. It's good practice to unpack as soon as possible to avoid
wrinkles and keep your belongings organized. Remember to pack any fragile or delicate
items with extra care, using padding or protective layers to prevent damage.

SHOE POLISHING
C5. DESCRIPTION
In this activity, we embarked on a mission to bring back the luster to our worn-out leather
shoes. We gathered all the necessary supplies, including a horsehair brush, a soft cloth, shoe
polish. We started by thoroughly cleaning the shoes, removing any dirt or dust with the brush.
Then, we applied a small amount of shoe polish, using circular motions to work it into the
leather.
D5. PHOTOS:
Before the polishing process, the shoes appeared dull and covered in dust.
And I buff it with shoes brush and soft cloth to bring out the shine.
After letting it dry for a few minutes, I buffed the shoes with the soft cloth, gradually
revealing a renewed shine. The process was repeated until the desired level of polish was
achieved. I apply the shoe polish with circular motions to ensure even coverage, so this is the
result.
The first step in shoe polishing is to clear the shoe of any loose materials and debris.
To prevent the polish from being affected by dirt or other objects, clean your shoes. After
gently brushing off any dirt from the shoes' surface using a soft brush or horse brush and
spraying it with a little water, the shoes should be clean. Applying the polish is the next step
using a clean cloth or a polishing brush. And sprinkle it with small amount of water in bottled
spray. Allow the polish to stay or dry for a few minutes after applying it to give it time to dry.
This will make a shoe more natural look. After the polish has dry, polish the shoes to a shine
using a clean cloth. You can use a polishing cloth or a buffing wheel to achieve an especially
glossy finish.
BEFORE
DESCRIPTION:
So, before, they made our shoes dirty with excess dirt and after that, they taught us
how to do the shoe polishing. First the brush is used to get rid of the dust, then the
polishing is applied to make the shoes shine and look better.
AFTER
DESCRIPTION:
In after it’s so satisfying for me because they look cleaner, brighter, and more
polished, which can be a pleasant feeling for me.
“In shoe polishing We need a dirty Shoes And make it clean and shine like our industry we
need to make our industry beautiful and wonderful.”
“In a dirty shoe put some kiwi polish cause it's against solution that are worse than the
problem, like an old man who want their dyed his hair color to hide gray and to make it
black, just like a shoe, also put dyed color to hide dirt and make it shine bright.”
“NO MATTER HOW DIRTY YOUR SHOES, IF YOU FOLLOW THE STEPS BY
POLISHING YOUR DIRTY SHOES IN APPROPRIATELY, IT WILL BE LIKE A
CRSYTAL CLEAR WITH SHINING AND SHIMMERING SHOES. YOU CAN ALSO,
SEE WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEFORE AND AFTER.”
DESCRIPTION:
You can use your bare hands, a rag, a towel, or a brush to apply shoe polish to the
shoe. Since it works best on clean, dry shoes, shoe polish is not a cleaning product. Usually,
getting good results requires using a strong rubbing motion to uniformly apply the polish to
the boot, followed by further buffing with a clean, dry cloth or brush. Another method, called
"spit-polishing" or "bull polishing," is using a towel and a drop of spit or water to gently
work polish into the leather. This process produces the mirror-like, high-gloss surface that is
occasionally referred to as a "spit shine" or "bull," and which is highly prized in military
organizations. To increase the lifespan and aesthetic appeal of a leather shoe, a protective
coating made of polishes including carnauba wax can be applied. It is possible to buy hard
sponges that have already had shoe polish absorbed into them. These sponges may be used to
buff leather without the need to coat them with extra shine. Typically, this is referred to as an
applicator.
E. OVERALL IMPRESSION
Overall impression for bed making, cleaning public facilities, ironing, and
packing/unpacking for suitcases, and shoe polishing varies depending on individual
preferences and circumstances. However, I can provide some general insights on these tasks.
From the first activity which the Bed making is a simple and essential task that
contributes to a clean and organized living environment. It involves arranging the sheets,
pillows, and blankets neatly on the bed. A well-made bed can create a visually pleasing and
inviting atmosphere.

appearance, and longevity of footwear. Polishing shoes can be seen as a detail-oriented task
that adds a finishing touch to an outfit and reflects personal grooming and attention to detail.
In general, the impression of these tasks can vary based on personal preferences and
circumstances. Some individuals may find them therapeutic or enjoyable, while others may
consider them mundane or time-consuming. However, the importance of these tasks lies in
the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation they contribute to the living
environment or personal appearance.
In the hospitality industry, attention to detail and impeccable service are paramount.
Mastering tasks such as bed making, cleaning public facilities, ironing, packing/unpacking
suitcases, mini bar replenishment, and shoe polishing are essential skills that contribute to
creating a positive guest experience. This essay will delve into the learning process and
practical implementation of these tasks, highlighting their importance in maintaining a well-
functioning and welcoming environment.
The hospitality laboratory provides fertile ground for the development of teamwork
and communication skills. As students work in teams, the importance of collaboration
