DECIMALS

What are Decimals?

Decimals are one of the types of numbers, which has a whole number and the
fractional part separated by a decimal point. The dot present between the whole
number and fractions part is called the decimal point. For example, 34.5 is a
decimal number.

Here, 34 is a whole number part and 5 is the fractional part.

“.” is the decimal point.

Place Value in Decimals

For example: 46.8  forty six and eight tenths or forty six point eight.
Digit 4 is in the tens place, means 4 tens (the value is 40)
Digit 6 is in the ones place, means 6 ones (the value is 6)

Digit 8 is in the tenths place, means 8 tenths (the value is )
