Purpose

To document the preventive maintenance procedure of manufacturing equipment and machineries.

Scope

Preventive maintenance applies to all manufacturing and facility machineries that requires routine of maintenance,
repair, inspection or adjustment.

Definitions
 Equipment: Tooling or machineries used to manufacture or test the product including
controlled environment systems
 Preventive Maintenance System: A system that schedule and documents the preventive
maintenance activity required on process equipment
 Preventive Maintenance Procedure: A description of required action to be performed on
equipment
 Preventive Maintenance: Scheduled equipment review, adjustment or repair to maintain
equipment at optimum operating condition.
 Preventive Maintenance Coordinator: An employee that responsible to ensure the preventive
maintenance activities are performed at the appropriate times.

Responsibilities/ Authority

Engineering & Maintenance Department


 Responsible for ensuring equipment is entered into PM systems and for development and updates of
preventive maintenance procedures
 Reviews preventive maintenance requests, unscheduled maintenance and repairs and related form
approvals.
 Review and approves all preventive maintenance documentation.
 Executes required preventive maintenance at the scheduled times
General Guidelines

Preventive Maintenance System (Preventive Maintenance Checklist)

1. Frequency: Daily
 Electrical: Turn on the machine, using different sizes of test peace, do sensitivity testing based
on the QA SOP.
 Mechanical: Using clean rags, clean all the surface of the machine including side walls
 Releasing of Maintained Equipment
 Equipment and machines that has been pre-inspected, repaired and maintained
shall be endorsed back to production before use.
 Machines shall be seen operating accordingly upon endorsement.
 Production supervisor/operator shall only accept machines that are in optimum
condition.
 Fill up Maintenance Form No.13.0 – Return to Operate checklist

2. Frequency: Weekly
 Mechanical: Using clean rags. Clean belt conveyor surface.

3. Frequency: Monthly
 Electrical: By using Ammeter, check the current of conveyor. Conveyor current must be less than 2
amp

4. Frequency: Quarterly
 Mechanical: Check the machine level

5. Frequency: Semi Annual


 Mechanical
o Check the roller bearing condition of the conveyor. Replace it if necessary.
o Check belt condition including tension.

6. Frequency: Annual
 Electrical: calibration of sensitivity to be done by third party.
 Mechanical
o Check the entire body of the machine, do welding on any possible cracks
o Do greasing of bearings
o Check all the tightness bolts and screws
o Using the Maintenance Form, no,10.0, put a check on the box correspond to the said activity
o Using the Maintenance Form 10.1. record all the details of the said activity.

General Guidelines

Preventive Maintenance System: Maintenance form No. 7.0 (Preventive Maintenance Checklist)

1. Frequency: Daily

Electrical:
 Check wiring connections including integrity and condition
 Turn On the circuit breaker.
 Press start button and check the reaction of magnetic contactor (the magnetic contactor will turn on).
 Press the stop button and check the reaction of magnetic contactor (the magnetic contactor will turn
off)
 While checking the button, conduct sound checking of contactor mechanical parts

Mechanical.
 Engine and spring support condition
 Rubber holder of screen condition

Releasing of Maintained Equipment


 Equipment and machines that has been pre-inspected, repaired and maintained shall be
endorsed back to production before use.
 Machines shall be seen operating accordingly upon endorsement.
 Production supervisor/operator shall only accept machines that are in optimum condition.
 Fill up Maintenance Form No.13.0 – Return to Operate checklist

2. Frequency: Weekly

Electrical: Open the control panel and using compress dry air, blow the accumulating dust/ power
inside
Mechanical: Check mechanical parts integrity
3. Frequency: Monthly

Electrical: using contact cleaner, spray all electrical connection including screws and contact point
mechanical
parts of magnetic contactors

Mechanical: Check screen appearance. replace the screen if damage or any possible string
detachment from
the edge

4. Frequency: Quarterly

Electrical: Using Ammeter, turn on the machine and check the running current, current must be not
greater than 7 amperes.

Mechanical: Turn on the machine and check the unusual sound involving vibrator bearing.

5. Frequency: Semi Annual

Electrical: Turn off the main breaker and do screw tightening of control contacts.

6. Frequency: Annual

Electrical: Turn off the main breaker and do wire condition checking.

Mechanical
 Check the entire body of the machine, do welding on any possible cracks
 Using the Maintenance Form, no,7.0, put a check on the box correspond to the said activity
 Using the Maintenance Form, no,7.1, record all the details correspond to the said activity
