PowerPoint for Teachers on Point: Tips and Tricks on use of

PPT Presentations for Education
SPEAKER: DANNA ROSE C. JAVIER

1. What are the key concepts that you have learned in this session?

Some of the key concepts that I have learned in this session are as follows:

● When creating a PowerPoint Presentation, it is important to understand first the concept of

your slides. Then make sure that the first slide introduces the topic that you are about to
discuss for the students to have an idea of what the discussion is all about.
● Use consistent and uniform slide template. Make sure that the font and color of the slides are
readable and not too colorful. Do not insert too much picture, make it as neat as possible.
● MS PowerPoint has the inserting content command which allows user to insert image, videos,
audios, animations, graphs. By inserting this in your slide, there’s a high change of
information retention.
● You can also use the FORMATTING PANEL to change the shape, color, or even rotate the
images or charts you inserted. But you need to make sure that these images or any visuals you
inserted are relevant to the topic you are discussing.
● To spice up your presentation and make it more visually appealing to your students, you may
use animations and transitions.
● When creating a text slides, make sure to only include the key points. Make it concise and
precise.
● In adding conceptual slide make sure that the graphic charts are visually displayed. You can
also add text or images for clarity of information.
● Text formatting is important in creating slides as there are students who are visually impaired.
2. How can you integrate this in teaching and in the field of education?

● I can integrate MS PowerPoint in teaching and in the field of education by creating visual aids
using this tool. With the help of MS PowerPoint, I can easily create a visually appealing and
engaging presentation as it has the elements of adding videos, images, graphic organizers like
charts, tables and graphs which helps students to follow along and understand the content
more effectively.
● I can also use the MS PowerPoint when creating fund and engaging activities as offers
interactive feature like animations. With MS PowerPoint I can ask students to create digital
stories as it has the feature of combining images, text, and multimedia to present their idea.

3. Make a summary of the session either in paragraph or bullet form.

⮚ This session talks about how to use the MS PowerPoint property. Like how to insert images,
charts, and videos. How to start your slide or what should be the first slide of your
presentation. It also discusses the Microsoft PowerPoint interface and how to use it in your
presentation. Among this interface is the title bar, the ribbon, the quick access toolbar, slides
panel, placeholders, and the status bar. The purpose of MS PowerPoint was also given
importance in this session. Like creating slides for a presentation must be well organized an
only the key concepts were included. Next is when inserting visuals make sure that it’s
relevant and the fonts and colors should not overlap to one another. The used of animations
and transitions was also discussed as it’s one of the features of MS PowerPoint that is helpful
in creating an interactive presentation. To sum it up, this session provides us educators an
idea on how to make our classroom and discussion as interactive as it is by teaching us to
create a colorful and engaging visual presentation.
