ganesan' Subject: Method for creatin backing sheet in pdms though Autocad Method for creatin backing sheet in pdms though Autocad Backing Sheet Creation: Before attempting to create a Backing sheet, the user should know the hierarchy where to create this Sheet. Then after it can be used for the 2D drawings. All t he backing sheets for EIL are stored in the following hierarchy. DEPT - / OGDEPT LIB - /OG_SHEET SHLB - /OG_A3_SHEET/SHLB1 BACK - /OG_A3_BS (The name of the backing sheet) If user want to create any Backing sheets, then user should create it under the /OG_A3_SHEET/SHLB1 of sheet library. To create a backing sheet user should have a soft copy of that sheet for checking limits and size in AUTOCAD. Steps for Creating Backing Sheet: Step 1: Open the drawing in AutoCAD Step 2: Check the limits of the drawing for its correct size. The lower limit sh ould always be 0, 0. Step 3: Explode the drawing. See that there are no blocks still existing after e xploding. Step 4: Appload the lisp files (Path) The following six LISP to load file a. Pdmsback.lsp b. Pdmsdraw.lsp c. Pdmsgeom.lsp d. Pdmsquit.lsp e. Pdmssymb.lsp f. Pdmsutil.lsp Step 5: Give the command PDMS_SHEET in command line. Step 6: Give the SHLB name as / OG_A3_SHEET/SHLB1

Step 7: Give the draft command file name as /C: \temp\test i.e. some relevant fi le name. Step 8: Again it asks for the file name repeats the same file name as above. Step 9: Close the AutoCAD drawing Step 10: Login to PDMS Draft Module. Step 11: Give the following command at command line Tol 0.01 (this sets the precisi on to 0.01). Step 12: $m/c:\temp\ the file name you had give. The backing sheet is created in your respective sheet library (SHLB). Steps for Modifying Backing Sheet: There are two methods of modifying backing sheet: User can modify Symbol by using Draft > Administration > Sheet Libraries. This p rocedure is recommended, if changes are minor. Otherwise follow the same steps as above explained to create.
