Field Assistant Supervisor

ROLE:
To enable vulnerable and food insecure HHs with Children Under 5, Pregnant, lactating
women and adolescent girls to curb the immediate hunger and nutrition needs, while
building resilience, reducing the use of negative coping strategies.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities


The Field Assistant Supervisors will be required to:
• Supervise the MUAC Screening, selection and registration of identified project
participant who met the eligibility criteria for Food assistance.
• Facilitate and support the Identification of households with additional nutrition
needs (Children under 5, pregnant and lactating women (PLW) starting from
their first trimester) to received Supplemental Nutrition Assistance SNA to
ensure consumption of nutrient adequate diets.
• Support the mobilization and sensitization of the project participant for the
Monthly Food Assistance and SNA voucher redemption.
• Support and facilitate the dissemination of key messages on Maternal Infant
and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN) to promote age-appropriate
complementary feeding practice and Hygiene promotion message
dissemination.
• Mobilize the Field Assistant to attend Monthly feedback meetings (Data
Validation)
• Facilitate Post Distribution Monitoring (PDM) for the Food assistance and
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance distributed at the communities, and carry
out any other duties that may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND ATTRIBUTES


• Degree/ Diploma in social work / social sciences or equivalent.
• Previous experience in an organization setting or other local and international
NGOs
• Most be an indigene or person living in that community.
• Ability to read and write / communicate in English and local language of the
community.
• Good understanding of child protection and community-based approaches.
• Computer knowledge is an added advantage.
• Proven technical skills and intellectual capacity
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be able to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work under pressure, with little or no supervision
• Experience with community development, working with children and schools.
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to think critically and to recommend good solutions to problems.
• Strong Organizational skills.
• Ability to conduct outreach at the community level. solving.
