Introduction
Not using page numbers was an intentional decision as this workshop manual is to be
extended by additions and further developments to take into account the technical
development of the spreader.
This manual has been prepared for practical application directly at the device and is to
guide the user step by step through repairs and troubleshooting.
If any chapters are unclear or not logical, please inform us briefly by email at
[email protected]. We would be pleased to receive your requests and suggestions and
will consider their implementation.
We wish you lot of success in repairing and hope you enjoy working
with the products of
Rauch Landmaschinenfabrik GmbH
Chapter 2
Basic information
The AXIS-H 30.1 features a distance of 1,100 mm between the spreading discs, the
AXIS-H 50.1 a distance of 1,400 mm.
Due to the greater working widths, the AXIS-H 50.1 features 15 cm³ motors. The
AXIS-H 30.1 features 11 cm3 motors.

The drop point can be activated separately for each side. This enables different
settings for boundary or section spreading. The drop point actuators communicate
with the implement ECU via a LIN-BUS system.
The metering slides are activated depending on the application rate and forward
speed (= mass flow-rate). Activation is serial; the actuators feature integrated
position determination.

VxR plus: Special coating of the spreading vanes in order to increase the life time. A
tungsten carbide mixture is applied to the gliding surface of the spreading disc. The plus
indicates an increased layer thickness of the 2nd generation of spreading vanes.
Basics:
The proportion between pressure and mass flow is absolutely linear (figure 1)
This linearity is independent of the fertilizer (figure 2)

An initialisation is the “initial meeting” of the implement ECU and the actuator
1. Preparation:
The connector plugs of the drop point actuators are located in the cable duct
(the drop point actuators are equipped with white cables). The designation of the
connectors can be found on the machine cable.
Depending on the cable type, the cable designation is stamped in or labelled by
means of yellow cable tags.

For some tractors, a missing and/or insufficient LS relief in the tractor’s hydraulic system
may lead to speed variations of the spreading discs.
Solution: For hydraulic blocks delivered as of calendar week 48/2011, a relief can be
created in the hydraulics block by means of screw-in blinds. The new blocks can be visibly
identified by means of the additional closure screw (labelling).
Upon the release of the closure screw, the M6 sealing plug can be replaced by a blind.
Start with a 0.3 mm blind.
If the improvement is insufficient, test the further sizes 0.5 / 0.6 / 0.7.
The blinds are available as spare parts set under order no. 2057677.
1. Tractor
o Stand-by pressure (for most tractors, it is between 20 and 25 bar; please
note that, with units of some manufacturers, the activation of the control
units or the automatic steering increases the stand-by pressure to up to
50 bar.
o Size of the free return flow of the tractor is sufficient, return flow filter is clean
o LS line closed correctly; in case of retrofitted power-beyond solutions, please
check that the replacement valve has been mounted correctly
o Sufficient hydraulic power
o Impacts due to steering movements or other consumer units cannot be
compensated
2. Spreader
o Proportional valve vented
o Pressure scales not contaminated (spreader does not reach speed on one
side and/or runs noisily)
o LS screw completely turned in
o Speed sensors in an impeccable condition
o Cabling of proportional valves and sensors is in an impeccable condition
Preparation:
- Drive via Load Sensing: Start the tractor, slightly increase the engine RPM of the
tractor.
- Drive via constant flow: Start the tractor, slightly increase the engine RPM of the
tractor, activate the control unit.
Venting:
- Remove the plastic caps from the proportional valves.
- Untighten the counter nut in counter-unclockwise direction until the nut is only
slightly attached to the screw.

2. Assembly/Disassembly
Prior to work, check the spreading discs and spreading vanes for wear and for fertiliser
deposits. Otherwise, the results may be incorrect.
Note: If the efficiencies determined in the factory are lost after an update, these can
be obtained from the Rauch technical customer service. For this purpose, the
serial number of the spreader is required.

Technical Information
Agitator drive
After longer distances, the compression of the fertilizer
may lead to an excessive start-up resistance at the
agitator drive and the “Agitator blockage” alarm is
displayed.

DATE 03/09/2014
The AXIS-H EMC software version 2.08.00 has been further developed to meet new practical
requirements.
Operation via joystick, easy switching between boundary and border spreading, direct input of
the application rate on the operating screen and further functions have been implemented.
The new software version 3.01.00 is now released after successful testing and certification by
the AEF.www.aef-isobus-database.org
The software version 3.01.00 is available for download in the RAUCH portal for business
partners.
Joystick operation
Operation by means of the AUX N joystick MFG 4 by
WTK Elektronik is released.
The joystick is also available from RAUCH
(order no. 2057592).

Agitator drive
The agitator drive is now switched on 3 seconds after opening the metering sliders. The drive is
started with 5 starting pulses at increased power for easier loosening of compressed fertiliser.

CCI FertChartApp
The FertChartApp for CCI Terminal offers the entire
fertiliser chart on the terminal. Via the terminal file
server, the fertiliser chart is automatically applied in
the fertiliser settings of the implement ECU.
The latest fertiliser chart data base can be imported
into the FertChartApp via an USB stick.

Available languages
German, English, French, Dutch, Danish, Spanish, Czech, Finnish, Hungarian, Italian,
Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Slovak, Estonian, Bulgarian, Russian, Swedish. (Russian and
Bulgarian are not supported by the CCI terminals)
Known limitations
“Delete object pool” only works if no voltage interruption occurs after deletion until the reloading
process. If required, the complete process is to be repeated.
The new compatibility list will be provided after the next Plug-Festival.

DATE 26/10/2014
All M-EMC and H-EMC transmissions are tested on a specifically developed load test
bench prior to installation. Here, the efficiency and control parameters are determined.
These parameters are the basis of the exact control of the systems.
Problem:
In case of service, e. g. if a QUANTRON or an implement ECU is exchanged, the parameters
must be re-entered in the control unit of the relevant machine.
In the past, these parameters had to be requested by telephone from the RAUCH customer
service.
Improvement:
Since 10/10/2014 (AXIS # 39602), each transmission is equipped with a label:
Example: H-EMC serial number 1631 Example: M-EMC serial number M0323
The label is located at the front of the relevant transmission in the direction of travel
This means that in the case of service, the parameters can be read from the label and entered
in the control unit.
The parameters are still stored in a database so that the corresponding parameters can be
requested from the technical customer service of RAUCH Landmaschinenfabrik GmbH by
quoting the transmission number or the serial number of the spreader if the label is
mechanically damaged.
