REPORT ON VISIT TO M/s.

FIRSTCHOICE READY MIX CONCRETE PLANT,


BARDHAMAN 22th JULY 2023

Report Dated 22-July-2023

A joint visit of M/s. EIL and M/s. GDCL was organized to check the M/s. FirstChoice Ready
Mix Concrete Plant at Bardhaman on 22.07.2023. The purpose of the visit was to check the
concrete production capacity as well as the quality standards of the manufacturer and their
suitability for supplying of concrete to IPPS 01, PNCPL Project.

Following persons participated in the visit from M/s. EIL & M/s. GDCL

Mr. D. Wilson, AGM, EIL


Mr. S.K. Pal, AGM, EIL
Mr. Debnath Kundu, RCM, GDCL

During the factory visit, the team interacted with Mr. Nabendu Bose, Manager (Plant), Mr.
Manoj Panda, QC Manager. An overview of M/s First Choice, the concrete production
process, plant capacity, quality systems and documents were reviewed.

Following are the summary of the observations during the visit:

1. The setup of plant is latest computerized, plant of M/s. Max Mach, Capacity 45
CuM/Hour. Cement Silo 3 no’s each 100 tones.
2. Transit mixtures 7 no’s and Capacity 8 CuM / TM.
3. Test reports/Register of Course and Fine Aggregates are maintained.
4. Cement and water test reports are available.
5. Separate material stacks available for 20mm, 10mm and Sand with water sprinkler to
remove dust.
6. Valid calibration reports are available for laboratory equipment’s like CTM and
Weigh balance etc.
7. Valid calibration reports are available for RMC plant.
8. Concrete Batch reports are maintained.

Based on the above observations, approval has been considered against M/s. GDCL
request vide mail dated 28.07.2023 for use of First Choice Ready Mix Concrete plant. The
approval shall be given subjected to following conditions:

1. Each Concrete batch, computerized delivery note generated indicating the quantities
of mixture (course and fine aggregate, cement, water, corrosion inhibiting admixture
and admixture).
2. The design mix shall be as per EIL approved.
3. Cement tests shall be conducted for each batch in approved laboratory.
4. For each batch, Corrosion inhibitor and admixture shall be tested in approved
laboratory.
5. Before concreting, frequency tests shall be conducted for the material course and
fine aggregate as specification.
6. Water to be used in concrete is to be tested as per the EIL specification.
7. Consumption registers shall be maintained for Cement, corrosion inhibitor and
concrete admixture.
8. Valid calibration reports of weighing equipment’s used in the batching plant.
9. The delivery time (lead time) shall be restricted to 120 minutes from the time
cement has entered the mixer to compaction of discharge. During the
transportation, the wet mix should remain in continuous mixing mode till reaching
the IPPS-01. No segregation is permitted.
10. Cubes will be taken at site as per the specification.
