Indus Center for Startups, Incubation & Innovation (ICSSI)

In today's ever-evolving world, innovation transcends boundaries and disciplines.

At ICSII, we firmly believe that the world is incomplete without innovation, and we
are committed to nurturing the spirit of innovation among our university students.
With the new National Education Policy (NEP) advocating a shift towards
experiential learning and emphasizing the development of job creators rather than
job seekers, ICSII aligns perfectly with the aspirations of Indian youth in the 21st
century.

Indus University's flagship center, ICSII, is dedicated to transforming university

students into innovators and entrepreneurs. We recognize the importance of
molding our students to meet the expectations of industries, government, and
society at large. To achieve this, we have established the Indus Center for
Startups, Incubation, and Innovation (ICSII), which serves as the cornerstone of
our vision and mission.

Vision of ICSII:
Our vision is to become a center of excellence that fosters synergy between
academia, research, and industry. ICSII aims to empower young minds at the
university to translate their ideas into impactful innovations or startups, positively
contributing to society and the nation as a whole.

Mission of ICSII:
1. Cultivating an Innovation Culture: We strive to instill a culture of innovation
among our students, encouraging them to think creatively and proactively.
2. Establishing a Vibrant Startup Ecosystem: ICSII creates a dynamic startup
ecosystem through the collaboration of academia, financial institutions, industries,
and other institutes.
3. Providing a Launchpad for Ideas: We offer a comprehensive platform that
includes mentoring, networking opportunities, and financial assistance to expedite
the implementation of students' ideas into reality.
4. Promoting Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Awareness: ICSII educates
students about intellectual property rights, including patent, trademark, and
copyright filing, fostering a culture of respect for intellectual assets.
5. Empowering Entrepreneurship: We raise awareness among students about
business models and entrepreneurship startups, equipping them with the
knowledge and skills to thrive as successful entrepreneurs.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth development movement. It has enormous
potential for nation-building. National Cadet Corps is a voluntary organization that recruits
cadets from high schools, colleges, and universities all over India. It is a tri-services
organization, comprising the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force, engaged in grooming the
youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The NCC aims at developing
character, commandership, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure, and ideals
of selfless service amongst young citizens.

Indus University is affiliated with the 9 Gujarat Battalion, NCC Directorate Gujarat, Daman,
and Diu, Dadra Nagar Haveli. We have a strength of 200 cadets of which 66.67% are boys
and 33.33% are girl cadets. NCC provides both 'B' and 'C' Certificates to cadets who are in
the senior division and studying in colleges. These certificates are awarded after training of
two and three years respectively. These cadets are trained in various fields like drill, firing,
map reading, weapon training, personality development and are trained to be citizens who
are disciplined and responsible. Cadets are introduced to the army way of life giving them a
glance at the the adventuresome life they have. Indus University encourages the youth to
make a career in the armed forces.

Mr. Rajveersinh Rathod, a 2022 passout in Civil Engineering and an NCC student,
achieved a remarkable milestone by getting selected as an officer in the Indian Army. His
selection took place at the Services Selection Board located in Jalandhar, Punjab

Indian Knowledge System (IKS)

India has always been a knowledge society. To perpetuate the knowledge tradition, a nation needs
institutions to carry it from one generation to another. India always had such institutions. In modern
times, the University system is the carrier of this knowledge tradition. The universities are full of
creative talent. The modern youth has a lot of energy. Knowing the cumulative strengths of their
culture and society will help them give perspective and channel their creative energy to
meaningful purpose.

Every great nation teaches the core essentials of its civilization to its students. It is meant to give
every student (regardless of the branch he chooses to study), an idea about the path breaking
ideas, greatest scholars and best books that were produced in that civilization. This Course of
Indian Knowledge System is an attempt to explain the core traits of Indian culture to the students.
This course will tell the students about our profound ideas and greatest innovations. It will make
them aware of the ideas that India exported to the world. It will tell them why India was the
intellectual powerhouse of the ancient times. It will help them understand the indigenous
knowledge system and the role it played in these great discoveries. This course aims at providing
a broad overview of Indian thought in a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary mode.

“The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled.” 26
