Arts Lesson Plan

The lesson plan aims to teach students about actual and visual textures. Students will identify textures through a cutting picture activity and learn that actual texture is how an object feels to touch while visual texture is how an object appears visually. Students will then practice drawing objects to demonstrate textures and identify textures as either actual or visual in an evaluation exercise. I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. Identify the actual and visual texture.
b. appreciate the importance of actual and visual texture through drawing; and
c. create an artwork that shows the different texture.
II. Subject Matter:
a. Topic: Texture (Actual and Visual texture)
b. Reference: k to 12 curriculum guide

c. Materials: Pictures,PPT presentation,tarppapel

1. Prayer and Greetings
Good morning class!!
Please, everyone stand up for a opening
prayer to be lead by Wilbert.
Wilbert: glory be to the father,to the son,to the holy
spirit as it was beginning now and ever shall be world
without them amen.

Class monitor who will be absent for

3. Setting of class standards
Now, what are the things that you should
do when you are inside the classroom?

B. Developmental Activities

1. Motivation

Now,we will have an activity.


I will group you into 3 groups.

Each group will be given a cutting picture,you are


going to do is to form the picture and after that
paste it in the blackboard.

I will give 2 minutes for each group to form the


picture.

After that I will ask a question based on the activity


that you do.

Is it clear?

Okay!you may now to start.


In group one what picture that you been form?
student: The picture that we form is lotion.

Class,what can you felt when you touch the lotion?

student: it's sticky ma'am!!

Very good.
Group two what picture that you been form?
student: It cotton ma'am.

What can you felt when you hold this cotton?


Student: It soft ma'am

So the group three what picture that you been form?


student: the picture that we form is Apple.
Did you eat apple class?

All: yes ma'am

Okay. So what can you felt when you eat the apple?

student: it's smooth ma'am

Yes our discussion for today about texture,but before


that let us first read our objectives for today's lesson. All: At the end of the lesson, the students should be able

Now,let us define first texture
So,what is texture class?
student: A texture is an object to touch or feel if it is
rough or smooth.

Texture refers to the way an object feels to the


touch or looks as it may feel if it were touched.

There are two types of texture actual and visual


texture.

Now what is Actual texture?

student: Actual texture it is on what you felt when you


hold or touch it.

Very good!

Actual texture – is the real thing,it is the actual way a


surface feels when it is felt or touched, such as
rough, smooth, soft,hard ,silk,stick etc;3-D art such
as sculpture are actual because they can be felt.

Example:

–silky

— smooth

— hard

Next is Visual texture

Who have any idea of what is a visual texture?


student: visual texture it refers captured from the

So a Visual texture– is not a actual texture,but all


textures you observe in photographs are visual
texture.no matter how rough objects may seem to
appear in a picture,the photograph's surface is
always going to be smooth and flat to touch.

each object to make a similar visual texture.
